SMART MANAGED SWITCHES
2 TopicsGS724TPv2 Auto-VoIP Firmware Version
I have a number of GS724TPv2's and want to start using the Auto-VoIP features. I can get them to firmware version 1.1.50.39 without issue, but read that if I want to go to the latest (6.2.1.13) it will erase the config and I will need to start over. Because I have so many and don't want to spend a lot of time upgrading to 6.x.x.x if I don't have to, I'd like to ask (1) if there are great Auto-VoIP enhancements or bug fixes going from 1.1.50.39 to 6.2.1.13, and (2) if so, will the config indeed be wiped out and I would need to start the config from scratch again. I don't really care about the nicer GUI and some of the and other features 6.x.x.x bring. So, wondering if it worth the effort or if Auto-VoIP will reliable work staying on 1.1.50.39. Thanks.SolvedWhich Managed Switch Range?
Hi, Hopefully a very simple question. We are looking for 2 small managed PoE switches (ideally 1x8 port and 1x16 port). However, we're a bit confused by the various models and product ranges. The environment these switches are going into is quite a complicated one with multiple vLans, LAGs between switches and SMNP management/monitoring. We purchased (in error it turns out) GS3108EPP and GS3116EPP. These don't have the necessary depth of configuration to setup the vLANS and LAGs the way they need to be. I'm looking for the next range up in terms of config options. They are replacing a GS716T (going to 8 port one) and a JGS516PE both of which are now discontinued. Can someone please suggest the models we are need to replace them. Many Thanks! Chris.
