31 TopicsRsync over SSH - cannot connect to remote
Hello! I am trying to push data from a local ReadyNAS 202 to a remote ReadyNAS 102 accross the internet using a backup job initiated on the local 202. I get "Unable to connect to host - 7077010011" if I test the remote destination connection. If I run the job I get: "Backup Status: Fail: failure during copy. Failed to run rsync, return rc 65280 (255) 'rsync' command returns rc=65280 ssh: connect to host X.XXX.XX.XX port 22: Connection timed out rsync: connection unexpectedly closed (0 bytes received so far) [Receiver] rsync error: unexplained error (code 255) at io.c(226) [Receiver=3.1.1]" (where X.XXX.XX.XX is the 102's WAN IP address). Both NAS's are on 6.5.1. Both have SSH enabled. I am able to log into the remote 102, both locally and across the internet, with pUTTY and an SSH user I have set up. This is the same SSH user I am trying to connect to run the backup job. I am able to log in using a public/private key combo, Shell Access is "allowed," "Rsync only" is unchecked, I have installed the public key for the 102 on the 202, both for the admin user and for the SSH user. I have set up my router (a BT hub 3) to forward port 873 to the LAN IP Address of the remote 102. It is translating to port 22 on the 102. The Destination part of the backup looks like this: Type: remote Name: remote: Rsync over Remote SSH Host: X.XXX.XX.XX Path: Documents/ Login: <SSH Username> The overall SSH setting on both boxes is "Enable Password Authentication - No." The "Documents/" share on the target 202 is set to "Allow Anonymous Access - Yes", "Everyone - Read/Write," no Hosts or DFS defined, and "Hide this folder: No." I am totally stuck... any help is much appreciated!!!!Solved11KViews0likes8CommentsFan Control for ReadyNAS NV+ v2 (Make it more quiet please)
I have been trying to get my nv+ v2 a little bit quiter for a while now and haven't really succeeded. I changed the fan, and it helped, but I can't get the fan to work as slow as I'd like. The disks and the system is still operating just under 40 degrees celsius so I'm confident in trying to slow down the fan a bit more. The problem is I can't find any controls for it. I've concluded that there are no controls for it in the GUI and I've started poking around through SSH to get there. I found this guide which gave me some real hope https://community.netgear.com/t5/New-to-ReadyNAS/How-to-control-fanspeed-on-a-RN104/td-p/911970 but I can't even seem to find any of the controls that give me access to the readings of the fan speed and temperature, let alone control them. Can anyone help me, how do I read/access the fan control of my ReadyNAS?9.2KViews0likes14CommentsWhy am I getting "sudo: command not found"?
I'm trying to update LMS on my 314 via the command line: sudo dpkg -i /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/updates/logitechmediaserver_7.9.0[...]amd64.deb This method used to work just fine, but then I had to do a factory reset about a week ago. Now I'm getting the following error: -bash: sudo: command not found Googling the problem suggests that sudo isn't installed. But I don't remember ever having installed it before. Is sudo installation the problem? How exactly should this be remedied?Solved8.7KViews0likes2CommentsAccess iSCSI LUN via O/S SSH RN102
Hi, I have access the NAS via SFTP & SCP. Where in the file structure is the actual LUN file so that I can copy it off the NAS for mounting elsewhere. We have a iSCSI partition that will only be seen as RAW by the iSCSI connector in Windows and we need to see if it really is totally damaged, The data\LUN folder appears to be empty. I am using SSH to move a file to a directory where I can edit it and then move out back. Everytime I us the ls. command in the root directory nothing is returned, therefore I can't see the potential directory to move it to. Can anyone help me with the file structure on a Readynas OS6 unit?SolvedHow to access SSH after EnableSSH is installed?
I have a ReadyNAS Pro Business edition running RAIDiator 4.2.27. I had subsonic 4.7 running (from super-poussin) on it and upgraded to 5.1. I've noticed two problems after that that I'm trying to resolve: 1. for some reason, I have to restart the subsonic process each day (it use to remain running 24x7) 2. Subsonic no longer transcodes flac (or anything else). Btw, I have ffmpeg v1.3 installed from super-poussin as well, and it worked fine with v4.7 After reading a little about it, I thought that maybe the ffmpeg transcoder is not in the location where subsonic is looking for it. I thought to verify this, then upon verification, move ffmpeg to the \subsonic\transcode subdirectory, which is the directory tha tthe subsonic log file references when I try to play a flac file that it needs to transcode. I installed EnableSSH v1.0 successfully (no errors), but cannot find how to access it to check it out further. I don't know linux, which is probably a key problem, but I'm asking for help here because I've run out of guesses. For example, I tried logging in to Frontview using root and the password for the admin account - no go. Is telnet what you use? Google brought back a cygwin product which I installed to no avail - it installed nothing but a shell, and made great references to all the stuff you can install - no go. Help is much appreciated. Hello. I need to access NAS with RAIDiator 4.2.28 by SSH to add some functionality, but can't enable SSH: no bin file passes the validation. I've tried modules EnableRootSSH_1.0-x86 and ToggleSSH_1.0-x86. So questions: 1) Are there a way to disable or avoid the validation process or install those patches? 2) Are there a safe way to downgrade Raidiator? My second NAS is running the RAIDiator 4.2.27 and SSH is working properly there.Solved5.9KViews0likes8Comments
