I have recently been able to sign into my OpenDNS account in the Parental Controls tab of NETGEAR Genie. It is only a fairly recent problem; last couple of weeks or so. I have an active OpenDNS account which I am able to configure as desired via the OpenDNS portal. But as I am unable to login to my account via NETGEAR Genie it is not receiving any data from my network and my desired OpenDNS parental controls are not being applied. I have tried deleting my previous OpenDNS account and creating a new on several times. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled NETGEAR Genie seevral times. To no avail. I simply continue to receive the message "There was an error signing in, please make sure you're connected to the Internet and try again." I can assure you I am well and truly connected to the internet so have no connectivity issues.Solved3.8KViews1like3CommentsR7000 Failed to set parental controls error
R7000 with firmware 1.0.9.26 When trying to update any connected device and change the parental control / Filer Level in Genie, I get an error of: Failed to set parental Controls ! With Okay option. My userID and password on OpenDNS is valid and working. I can log into OpenDNS on numerous different devices/PCs/IOS devices. This feature was working in previous firmware versions, but I cannot specifically know when this occurred since it was working and I didn’t re-visit.Solved6KViews0likes8CommentsMy Parent Control got disable after firmware update. R7500
After I update my router firmware, I lost parent control option. I have a Nighthawk X4 AC2350. The Router model is R7500v2 and the current firmware version V1.0.3.26. When I click on Parental Control in the Netgear Genie, I got the error message below: Checking Router Firmware We're making sure you have firmware that supports Like Parental Controls. It looks like you might not be connecting to the Internet through a supported NETGEAR router. Please make sure your computer is connected to you NETGEAR router via a wireless or Ethernet connection and try again. If this problem persists, turn off you router and turn it back on, wait until LEDs are lit and try again. For further assistance visit http://netgear.opendns.com/support. I have tried both connecting to the router wire and wireless and none work. My NETGEAR router connects to a AT&T U-Verse. And it has been work fine before I updated the new firm ware.
