HI, I have a NAS at my place of Hikvision, and i am able to access that on my mobile through 4g or different network outside my place. But its not accesible on local LAN or wifi. What are the possible issues? Its working on local 80 port but not on https which is normally used by the mobile application to connect.855Views0likes1CommentRN10400 possible virus on all my file extensions have QWEUIRTKSD file after them and the wont open

I got my weekly security bulletin from my NetGear R6400 this morning and it is full of pages and pages of entries like this: [LAN access from remote] from XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:YYYYY to XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:80, <DATE TIMESTAMP> (IP Addresses and Dates / Times redacted). In reading in the forums this means that there is an actual external accessor on my network and the target for EVERY ATTEMPT was the ReadyNAS. The only reason I can think of that I would start getting NAS remote access successes from Japan, Germany, Brazil, and Russia is that someone hacked into ReadyCloud and compromised my data. Since there is no direct support for issues like this, I'm positng this to the forum. Do any of y'all have recommendations for me other than "terminate ReadyCloud use and go get another product"?Solved6.4KViews0likes9Comments6.9.2 patch has spectre/meltdown fix - How?
On 1/13 linus pulled the bad intel patch from intel because it was "garbage" (his words not mine). On 1/28 he releases an acceptable version. Netgear puts out 6.9.2 on 1/16. How did netgear get anything other than the first version that was unnacceptable? Will there be a followup to include the 2nd round of change from the linux commmunity?Solved1.2KViews1like1CommentCannot change Root SSH Key Pair
Hi We are using Model: ReadyNAS 3220 firmware version 6.4.2 Environment - Web interface We have been using this for sometime and have been using the backup feature. The problem is that in all this time the root ssh key pair has not been rotated. We would like to keep our data and system secure by changing the ssh key pair of the root user. I tried switching on and off ssh on the device using the dashboard, but that just disabled and re-enabled the same key pair. 1. Go to System menu 2. Go to Settings sub menu 3. click on SSH 4. Click on Download SSH key file. ---This is root SSH Public Key--- I would like to change this so I have a new key and my system is secure. We are using the Rsync over SSH option for our backups. Thanks in advance and taking the time to read this.Solved2.2KViews0likes5CommentsVPN / Cyberghost Install

I've follow this all the way but OpenVPN is just not there https://community.netgear.com/t5/New-to-ReadyNAS/Installing-and-running-OpenVPN-boot-PrivateInternetAcces/td-p/941794 Can someone please help Thank youAny plans for Samba fix for CVE-2017-7494 ?
I posted elsewhere about this, but CVE-2017-7494 NEEDs to be patched on any device still in operation, and I think that includes the older, technically out of support models that I have 6 of. With Microsoft recommending disabling SMB 1.0 because of Wannacry and related security issues, it seems like an ideal time for Netgear to show some leadership and update SMB on all it's devices to address this security issue and to allow people to use older devcies with SMB 2 or 3 support.Solved23KViews0likes19Comments
