The "workaround" about doing it at port level is not 100%, seems alot of Multicast stream are missed and not reported in the switch in that config. When setup at the VLAN level it works 100% like its suposed to for IPv4, but ofcourse that breaks IPv6. This needs to be addressed, and apprently its on this whole "family" of switches based on other post here. EDIT: and this is with the latest firmware of 6.3.1.1624KViews4likes2CommentsHow do you set the update frequency when using an SNTP sever to synchronize time on a GS724T switch?
Hi, It has been suggested that I submit this increased functionality request to improve the switches capability on its accessing frequency when updating its system time from an SNTP server. Most other manufacturers allow access times up to 1000's of hours. I normally update various network appliances either once a day or once a month, which is fine for most instances. However, this doesn't appear possible with my GS724T switches. The maximum polling time results, in my case, with a Kiss Of Death response due to too many update requests. The only work around is possibly using a DNS access to an SNTP server pool, as opposed to accessing a fixed time server IP address. I would have just put up with this problem but DaneA from the NETGEAR Community Team suggested I raise this as a functionality request! I did look into having my own SNTP server but the cost is prohibitive. Regards PAH Last update from the NETGEAR Community Team shown below for info. : How do you set the update frequency when using an SNTP sever to synchronize time on a GS724T ... Hi PAH, Since there is no option to manually configure the frequency of when the GS724Tv3/4 will access the SNTP servers, I suggest that you post this concern as feature request in the Idea Exchange board for Business here. Be reminded that adding kudos to the ideas will help as the development team will be reviewing the post that has the most kudos and it might be considered to be added on the future functionality of the product. Hi dear, I have read much more model of layer 2/3 smart switch. I hope have funtion like this: http://documentation.netgear.com/gs108t/enu/202-10337-01/GS108T_UM-07-05.html Please guild me if this model have this, or we can have it in future. Thanks & Best Reagard.13KViews1like1CommentSupport LACP L2+L3 hashing on XS series switches
The XS series switches only support L2 hashing with LACP (802.3ad), apparently only the managed switches support anything beyond L2. The ReadyNAS units support L2, L2+L3, and L2+L3+L4 out of the box. Could the upper tier web managed switches please have at least L2+L3 support added? I'm not talking about going crazy and adding more than that. Should be a relatively minor change, the UI changes would likely be more involved than the protocol changes. It should be a big benefit to the ReadyNAS users.11KViews1like1CommentOrbi Pro AC3000 (SRR60) - Support for Vlan segmentation
When I bought this business class mesh system about a year back (1 router and 2 satellites), tech support stated that the product being a business producr does not have a built in firewall and I should procure an external firewall. A year back tech support stated that vlan segmentation and vlan to ssid mapping would be coming in a later release. At this point indeed the feature came in a later release of hardware in AX6000. I was talking to tech support today again as I purchased a decent hardware firewall and I would like to have the same vlan feature Iin the AX6000) of vlan 1,10,20 and 30 married to SSID with trunking available on the AC3000 as this should be basic network fiormware/software update and has nothing to do with wifi6 which may demand a new chipset. In the very least I need to segment the IOT stuff from business traffic. Can you please integrate proper vlan/ssid mapping into the AC3000 (SRR60). The way this should work is a user joins SSID Wireless 1 and should be part of the corresponding VLAN/Subnet and the AC3000 would run in AP mode and trunk (80-2.1q) the vlans via the WAN port to the Firewall which provides the IP routing, dhcp and all other services. I am not looking for wifi-6.11KViews4likes2CommentsFix Device View software on Smart Switches
I and everyone else in the community would appreciate our device view being repaired for our smart switches in service. I want to but more switches for my network, including some 10gbe switches. But I don't want to buy more switches where all the features don't work. This Device View Java isssue has been ongoing since 2015 from reading the community website. In my opinion trashing all our switches and buying all new switches to fix a firware issue is a ridiculous option. Please give your customers some quality customer service and produce a firmware update to correct this problem...11KViews3likes2CommentsTLS 1.3 Support
Given that your entire product line of ProSafe Smart switches only supports up to TLS 1.0, I'd like to suggest that you start working on making TLS 1.3 available. Especially, since TLS 1.2 has been around since 2008 and you should really be embarassed that your business line of switches only support insecure communication methods.9.6KViews23likes15CommentsLetter of Volatility
Please ensure NTGR does publish the Letter of Volatility (LOV) along with the product support download pages. We see that requests for LOV are taking reasonable bandwidth in the community support, temporary file downloads will be enabled with valid for a few days only. This makes the replies virtually useless, because the download is no longer available. So we see requests for the same product LOV again, or we get new posts. All this can be avoided... Thank you for consideration! Regards, -Kurt8.9KViews3likes2Comments
