Please update the Traffic Meter feature for the Nighthawk R7000 to have an increased Monthly Limit that can account into the Tbytes. Comcast as an ISP has began to implement data caps at 1024Mb which equates to 1048576Mbytes but the Monthly Limit field only allows me to enter 104857Mbytes, missing the last digit which is significantly less than the data cap. Given that Comcast is monitoring the traffic it should be available to impose limits and monitor traffic independent of Comcast. It is very important this feature be added. Currently running V1.0.7.10_1.2.3 firmware. This was mentioned in the forums and it was suggested that this be submitted at this location in that post. See below; https://community.netgear.com/t5/VPN-Firewalls/Bugfix-Request-Increase-maximum-monthly-limit-for-Traffic/m-p/1185320#M6496 Original Post "This in regards to the Traffic Meter monitoring function of the SRX5308 VPN Firewall. However this would apply to any device in Netgear's product lineup that monitors the amount of IP traffic per month. Currently the traffic meter can set a monthly traffic limit of up to a maximum of 256000 MB (~250 GB). However, this is insufficient for those who are using Comcast as an ISP where the limit is set to 1 Terabyte (1024 Gb). Request that the montly traffic limit setting be adjustable in the Terabyte range." Reply "I advise you to post your concern as feature request in the Idea Exchange Board for Business here. Be reminded that the community members who will give kudos to your idea will help as the development team will be reviewing the post that has the most kudos and it might be considered to be added on the future functionality of the product."60KViews8likes20CommentsSRX5308 Traffic meter - what the heck?
Pictures speak a thousand words. This was open in a tab on an SRX5308 running FW 4.3.4-2, the Tab was refreshed periodically for a while. The traffic made sense, and kept growing over time within expected amounts. At one point coming back from being logged out due to inactivity (but not for the first time), this is the same screen (yes, on the same router) after logging back in: OK... We transfer way more data then that per day. The reset time hasn't changed, it has not been reset or otherwise fiddled with! So if in doubt, reboot. Guess what the screen looks like now: Anyone noticing how I managed to time it so accurately that I got 2048/4096/512? Those numbers ring any bells? Something is completely broken in this. All I want to know is how much traffic I send, and which machine(s) generate the most. If anyone could help with a clever idea that'd be great! Thank you!3.9KViews0likes2CommentsAmazon Web Traffic Upon OS Upgrade Reboot
Hello, I completed the ReadyNAS OS 6.6.1 update and soon after rebooting and reviewing logs, there was an abundant amount of traffic talking to what appears to be Amazon over port 80 using the following IP addresses: 52.8.157.247 52.9.151.236 52.52.17.157 54.153.23.250 I was unsure of why my ReadyNAS was talking to Amazon, and if this is in fact Amazon, as there were many pages of log messages with these four IP addresses talking through port 80. I have a hunch that it may be AWS, but can never be too safe. Thanks.1.8KViews0likes1CommentFVS318G V2 DNS traffic getting through
Hi. I'm having an Issue with an FVS318G V2. I have only ping and port 8000 open for a specific address and all other traffic Is blocked but DNS requests are managing to get through. Is this even possible ? Could a virus/malware somehow pull this off and bypass the firewall ?3.3KViews0likes2Comments
