I bought an Orbi RBK33 system with RBR40 router last November. Intially, everything was fine, but somewhere along the way it appears the router decides to drop it's connection to the modem (perhaps starting in December). At least, I think this is the problem. I see my WiFi router isn't listed as an available network from all the devices I use (phones, tablets, computer, roku). Sometimes, while monitoring the WiFi, I see our it disappear, come back and disappear again from my devices when having trouble. Most often, I have to cycle power to the router to get it to come back up. It might stay up minutes, hours or a week. It seems like when there is a rough period, it stays up closer to minutes than hours. FWIW I do have a technical background but my knowledge in this area is poor. I logged into my router and there are no new firmware updates to install for the router or sattelites. Perhaps there are other router settings to attend to? I am at a loss. I don't mind throwing money at this problem to replace either the router or modem, but I really would like some idea of which is the culprit before I take a guess. This is the system I purchased: NETGEAR Orbi Whole Home Mesh WiFi System with Tri-band – Eliminate WiFi dead zones, Simple plug-in setup, Single network name, Works with Amazon Alexa, Up to 5,000 sqft, AC2200 (Set of 3)FVS318N Firmware 4.3.3-5 port forwarding for more then one network.
From the menu for WAN USERS I see three options ANY, Single or Address Range. I currently use a range and all works fine. My client wants to add another address that can also access the internal machine. I tell them it has to be either ALL or replace the address range that is there with the new one. Am I correct in this?1.1KViews0likes1CommentRN312 NTFS-formatted external USB drive set mount group permissions
Hi, I am currently trying to change the default mount permissions for an external USB hard drive that is formatted with NTFS. It mounts by default as u=root, g=root but I would like to change this to g=admin. If I umount and mount via the CLI, I can achieve this but I cannot find the config file/script to make this happen automatically/via automount. Can anyone assist? Thanks, Pierre581Views0likes0Comments
