Hi, This is a followup to below thread: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Using-your-ReadyNAS/Windows-10-Install-no-longer-able-to-access-NAS-shares/m-p/1467864 Resume: - Windows 10 Entreprise disabled SMB access to shares requesting/proposing the guest credentials. It won't even prompt for a user/pass account - ReadyNAS change log: OS 6.9.2 will fix this from the developers statements by disabling guest access - Until now, we were obliged to add in windows 10 the NAS credentials under which we need to access the SMB shares Current state using 6.9.3 firmware: - I tried to remove the corresponding windows credentail in the NAS: conenction is broken. I still need to add in windows 10 enterprise the NAS account to access the shares. It is behaving like if the NAS is still proposing guest access to windows 10 Bug report: This issue that was reported is still not fixed under 6.9.3. Any technical explanation and why we still need to manually add a windows account to access a NAS share ?Solved3.5KViews0likes8CommentsRN 214 Can't access admin page MAC OS

Hi all, The first thing is to say thank you very much in advance for your help. I have a RN104 since Nov.2015 with 4x6TB in RAID 5 (almost full) with both LAN connected with 2 IP. I upgraded the software to 6.9.1 at the begining of December and it was working ok but at the end of Dec I upgraded the APP Plex and it causes a problem in my RN. It is not accesible from any computer (Windows/Windows Explorer or Mac/Finder) it is visible but no accesible to any folder and also other folders are new in the root (admin, data and home) Plex is not detecting the Ready NAS Media Server and it is not possible to see nothing in Plex. NAS is accesible in the Admin page and all disk are working ok and also accessible in RAIDar 6.3.0 Ping from Mac with positive feedback. No working in ReadyCloud - Message is NAS doesn't have connection. What I have tried is: -first to reinstall Plex before to be aware the NAS is not accesible (many times but not possible to install). - I decided to reinstall Firmware from Boot Menu - I reinstall 6.9.1 from admin page - I dowgraded to 6.9.0 from admin page - I upgraded to 6.9.1 from admin page ... but nothing worked I really appreciate your help on this because a lot of info in my NAS I would like to preserve ... I am sending also the logs to the email. PS. Sorry about my English (I am from Spain)...4.9KViews0likes22CommentsI can't map network drive in Windows 10 home
Hello, I have a Windows 10 Machine at home and I had a mapped drive to my Netgear ReadyNAS. It was Mapped to \ELC\ (I'm logging in via Egnyte Credentials to the Egnyte folder path). As of the most recent firmware update I'm now no longer able to access this folder from my computer. Any thoughts?4.7KViews0likes7CommentsFolder Access to NAS
I have managed to set up my NAS fine, and it has been working brilliantly. I have set up my admin and primary user password but not added any other people's accounts. I have the ReadyNAS RN104 and running OS 6.6.1. I can map a network drive to folders and it asks for passwords but I have noticed that on other pc's on the same network, there is a Network Location for the ReadyNAS visible (with the Netgear logo) and any PC seems to be able to access this without need for an account, let alone a password. I have gone through the shares and edited the permissions to not be anonymous, and even as far as only admin account has access but the automatic network location can still access the files without any protection. I have already had one person access my files on the network without my permission and want to make sure there is only verified access. I can't find anywhere to turn off this 'device' appearing automatically and only allowing access after maping a drive or web access, or at the very least making sure it is password protected. Thanks for any help.Solved5.3KViews0likes2CommentsHelp....I can access configuration but not my files :-(

Hi all, I am own a ReadyNAS 2120v2 since some days and updated the OS to 6.24. The device is called 'altair' in my network'. The ReadyNAS has some shared folders with enabled SMB protocol. Now I have some trouble with accounts. I creates one called 'tl' with a password. Now when I try to open \\altair\ in the Windows Explorer and login with my admin credentials it will work fine. But if I try it with 'tl' and there credentials it does not work. I tested it in the browser to but it is the result - no access with 'tl'. PS: My Windows operating systems are Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 - it is the same problem on both OSs. What must I check to solve this problem?3.4KViews0likes4Comments
