we have joined the NAS to our AD (not cached localy as 80,000 users), and can add users to shares, however where the username starts with a number it will not search for or find the users . e.g. I add a user dt1t to networks RW access on a share , I see in /var/log/readynads/ads.log this entry [17-12-19 14:28:09] 2143 rndb_ads_utils.c:176 info: ADS CMD::ldap search open: LANG=C net -P ads search \(\&\(objectClass=user\)\(\!\(sAMAccountType=805306369\)\)\(\!\(sAMAccountType=805306370\)\)\(sAMAccountName=dt1t\)\) sAMAccountName objectSid distinguishedName mail primaryGroupID memberOf cn and the user appears in the list of those with RW access in the web interface, however if I add a user 1007111w (or any user starting with a number) this user never appears in the/var/log/readynasd/ads.log and disappears from the webinterface when you click apply. the user info can be retrieved using # wbinfo -i 1007111W 1007111w:*:170546:33281::/home/CAMPUS/1007111w:/bin/false if I put in non-existing users starting with letters or punctuation marks I can see the lookup in the ads.log, if I put anything starting with a number, it never looks up. Hi all, I have a ReadyNas 2120 v2 OS 6.7.4 working in an active directory. I created shared folders following the instruction in: https://kb.netgear.com/7066/ReadyNAS-OS-6-Setting-Active-Directory-folder-permissions The problem I discovered is that when I create a subfolder the AD group “Domain users” is automatically added to the new folder with full control granted. Have anyone discovered how to solve this problem? I really appreciate your help,5.3KViews0likes12CommentsCan't view subfolders/files within shares in Share section in the admin page. OS 6.6.1 Using AD.
ReadyNAS 314 running on 6.6.1 and using Active Directory The issue that I'm having is that when I attempt to drill down into shares in the Share section of of the admin page, nothing happens aside from the progress bar moving temporarily and then disappearing. When viewing the files in Windows explorer, I am not having any of these issues. This behavior is happening in both the current Shares view as well as the recovery view. It is happening with all shares. I am logging into the admin page with the ReadyNAS built-in admin account. This wouldn't be a problem aside from removing my ability to be able to recover specific files and folders within each share. I noticed this last week, but it could have been an existing issue since we moved over to active directory a couple of months ago. It seems like it might be an AD permissions issue, but I'm not sure. What do you guys think? Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.2.6KViews0likes2CommentsReadynas 1100 Active direcrory option is not found
Hello My company uses a Redynas 1100 for long ime, it was joined the domain. It had some problem, so I did a factory reset, now it is up and running, but cannot find the option to join the domain. Where this option should be, at the security menu there is no option to join the AD as before. Only local users and groups can be managed. The firmvare is: RAIDiator 4.1.14. Can anyone help me? How can I join the device to the domain? Thanks: Miki4.4KViews0likes8CommentsRAIDiator 6.4.0 on older hardware? (Active Directory feature)
Good day, I have a ReadyNAS NV+ v2, currently running RAIDiator 5.3.11 with four WD Enterprise 2TB drives. It works quite well, but I've noticed the Active Directory support in this version of RAIDiator seems to be lacking (despite the presence of options to enable it -- what's with that?) Questions: Is this a device which can run under the current RAIDiator version (6.4.0) which, as I understand, fully supports Active Directory, or am I looking at replacing the chassis and moving the disks? If it is a case of replacing the chassis: Will the replacement chassis recognize the disks if I just plug 'em all in, or am I looking at a complete reformat/reinstall? Thanks much.
