connect CBR750 to xfinity gateway without ethernet cable?
Apparently xfinity isnt charging equipment rental fees anymore. I was trying to make a small adjustment to my internet plan and the rep said it was cheaper for me to use their xfinity gateway rather than continue with my CBR750. That didnt make any sense to me but i wanted to save money so I agreed to use the xfinity gateway. I still want to make use of my CBR750. I read about the faux AP mode but how can I use the CBR750 and the xfinity gateway together but in separate parts of the house WITHOUT having to run an ethernet cable between the two? I dont have the skills or funds to run 50+ feet of cabling through my walls. Having the gateway and CBR right next to each other seems like a waste of wifi coverage. could i connect the CBR750 to the ethernet port of a wifi extender and do the faux AP mode from there?
