I'm exploring the beta support for OneDrive sync, and found several shortcomings that I'd like to see addressed in updates to the 6.9.0 firmware: 1. Shared folders that are added to my OneDrive aren't sync, while on Windows and Mac clients they are sync'd. The NAS should sync them as well. This has been committed as a 6.9.1 feature, which is great. 2. There is no multi-user support, though it really needs to be added. User A should be able to sync their OneDrive to their own share, while user B should be able to log in and establish a separate OneDrive authentication and sync relationship in their own share. 3. There is no way to ascertain sync state / progress. Somewhere there needs to be a progress indicator or "files remaining to be sync'd." Otherwise, users have no idea whether their ReadyNAS is in a clean or dirty sync state, thus no confidence of a full copy of their data. 4. You should document that a 0 means "no bandwidth restriction" rather than "0 KBps allowed". Thanks, Jeff2.5KViews0likes8CommentsConnecting Seagate PersonalCloud to Orbi RBK30
Hi, I have a Seagate 3TB Personal Cloud that I'm trying to connect (wired, no wifi) to my Orbi router. However, it's not showing up on my network. VLAN/Bridge group is enabled due to my ISP's settings. Any ideas on how I can get the PersonalCloud device to connect? TIA.ReadyCLOUD desktop client showing Offline on multple ReadyNAS 104 - it's been disabled?!
Hi. I have two RN104 models. One on my LAN in my office and one in a customer's office 22 miles away. The RN104 in my office is being used to store my media collection, a file server for my business and (in testing) a backup service to a small number of customers. The remote is a customer's main storage and file share which I maintain and am currently 'watching' due to problems with disk-based backups. Both devices suddenly appeared as Offline in the desktop client for me sometime yesterday. I then got a phone call from an irate customer complaining he couldn't access his backup to retrieve a file he needed (which I then accessed locally and emailed him). This problem would have also prevented me from monitoring the problematic backup on the remote device if I didn't have VNC access and was able to access the NAS via a PC in their office. Anyway, I left it for sometime hoping the service would return but alas no! Then I thought, just a moment ago, has the ReadyCLOUD function been somehow disabled? Sure enough, both devices have had their ReadyCLOUD function turned off. So my questions are . . . Why have both devices had their ReadyCLOUD function turned off? I didn't do it and I'm the only person with admin access to both devices and they both have different, complex passwords which change regularly. If this has occured due to a problem at NETGEAR, for example, a wide-ranging hack or someone 'accidentally pressing the wrong button' will you please let me know. I need to have confidence in this kit as I am installing and maintaining them for customers. Is it safe to turn the ReadyCLOUD function back on? I've seen recent reports of people complaining that their data has been lost or compromised. I need to use the ReadyCLOUD client on a daily basis to manage my devices. The R9000 Nighthawk X10 comes with a complimentary 6 months Amazon cloud back up subscription. however the settings page on the router UI is massively basic...it only has an option for continous back up of your files to/fro the amazon cloud servers with no way to control how much bandwwidth that feature gobbles up. if you have a fast network and huge bandwidth allowance, you wont notice the effect the feature has on your internet speed my observation is that the R9000 does not prioritise bandwidth allocation and if you have a small internet bandwidth you will wonder why your internet is slow Feature request Netgear, please update the router UI with a bandwidth allocation feature so users can set a limit to how much data bandwidth in percentage % and absolute terms the router can use for the cloud back up10KViews0likes0CommentsReadyNas 6.6.0 - Amazon Cloud Drive first sync launch
Hi, I've been using Amazon Cloud Drive sync on my ReadyNas 6.6.0 for a couple of weeks, and it worked like a charm. 4 days ago, I've unfortunately switched off the service (under Cloud tab), and immediatly switched it on. Thus, the amazon sync service has stopped and restarted. Since then, it says he's looking for changes... I have about 4 TB of data (~5000 files), and my internet connexion is 1GB (fiber). How long it's supposed to take (it's running for +4 days) ? Is there a way to have more details on the ongoing sync process in order to know if it's working or not ? The log file is wery minimalistic (1 line saying he's looking for changes)... Initially it took 2-3 days to copy all the data to Amazon cloud... Many thanks in advance. CarlosSolvedCrashplan - My computer as a trusted device to a single share?
Hi All, We recently purchased a second ReadyNAS 102 with the hopes of using the two ReadyNAS 102s as backups for each other. We want to have our two ReadyNASes on two different networks backing up to each other (replicating with the ReadyCloud). At the same time, we want Crashplan to take the data from each ReadyNAS and back up to Crashplan's Cloud. I have another fruitless post explaining my issues with ReadyNAS Replicate returning a P2P error. You can find that here: https://community.netgear.com/t5/ReadyNAS-in-Business/ReadyNAS-Replicate-job-returning-quot-Unable-to-get-local-p2p/m-p/1160592#M5693 This isn't what my post is about but if you have any suggestions it would be most helpful. While trying to figure that out, I'm trying to use the Crashplan that is installed on my PC to backup from a mapped drive mapped to the ReadyNAS. I am able to get Crashplan to back up to a share I mapped, but I needed to open permissions to allow "Everyone" to read and write from that file. For security reasons, I want to allow access to only my computer without the need to log into the networked drive because Crashplan can't access a networked drive that requires another login to a mapped drive. Is there any way to add my computer as a trusted device to a single share?2.2KViews0likes1CommentCloud can not discover device
Having my RN10400 for about a year now and had no problems to use it as a storage for home network. Now I truying to set up cloud permissions for users, but following steps described in manual I get nowhere. To invite users to cloud I need to get to ReadCloud page and set the permissions, but whilst I there ReadyCloud can not discover device.( It says that I don't have registered or saved devices). Whilst I enter serial number to find device it brings me back to admin page. On Cloud tab I always see that service is off line. Spend so much time truying to get through but getting nowhere.
