Well I had a WNDA3100v2 – N600 Wireless Dual Band USB Adapter before and it crapped out on me. Looks like it just went dead from years of use. I went to the store and bought the current model that I'm using, the AC1200, I started to experience choppy connections online while gaming. The N600 was fine, no connection issues and only slowed down if other people were heavily using the net. Now my ping time in game is 10-20ms but i'm experiencing spikes where the connection is choppy. I look and I see no fluctuation of ping. Streaming videos is fine, downloads are fine. I installed the new drivers without the genie right off the bat and it was spiking. I then installed the genie to see if it would fix it. Did not work. Reset the router. Still spiking. I'm about to go return it. It seems like it's a hardware issue, weird how the lesser model outperforms.3.1KViews0likes1CommentNetgear USB Adapter Randomly Stops Working
So, I have a Netgear WNDA3100v2 wireless adapter that I use as the primary wireless driver for my home PC. It's honestly been a pretty good card for the past year that I've had it. However, lately it will randomly stop working. It never did this in the past, but only started recently. Firstly, it will randomly stop detecting any and all access points or wireless networks (there are a few wireless networks I can pick up other than my own, but I have my network set to a unique channel), and I'll have to unplug it, then plug it back in. Secondly, it will work for anywhere between 1-2 weeks, and then it will just crap out, and I'll have to reinstall the driver. I usually have to restart my PC as well before I install the driver. I'll also have to get a fresh copy of the drivers (which I can do from my phone luckily) otherwise it won't work. I've tried using the adapter with and without a usb extension cord, and with multiple versions of the driver, but it always craps out after a week or two. I know this isn't a problem with the router, since my phone and macintosh have no issues with internet connectivity. I was wondering if this was a common problem with the adapter, and if there was anyway to fix it. Currently, I am running V2.2.0.3 of the driver for the adapter on Windows 8.1 Pro. If any additionaly specs or info are needed, I'd be more than happy to give them. Thanks for any help in advance :)4.2KViews0likes3Comments
