I hope i got the right board. Hi, sorry for my bad english. I bought a used switch "GSM7224v2". It's working but i can't access the website. My Router shows me the IP of the switch. I try with Hyperterminal to get access on the console. It looks dead. No prompt or any letters. Nothing. The reset button is doing something. But it doesent reset to factory defaults. Even on the Hyperterminal there is nothing while hit the reset button. I tried a connection with SSH. Nothing. If i try with FTP on Port 21 I get asked for a username. I don't have any Login data. Is there any way to reset the switch? Can it be jtaged or something? what about the usb port? IP from Router with DCHP 192.168.168.82 No connection possible. No Login data. Thank you for your help in advance2.3KViews0likes6CommentsNighthawk X6 R8000 dead? Please help
Everything was fine until this morning. Opened Genie to check network map and the Internet went down (don't know if it was coincidental). The Internet LED stays orange indicating no Internet. However, when I connect the Ethernet cable from my cable modem to my laptop I can browse without a problem, so this isn't an ISP issue. I'm on the newest firmware and I've tried everything possible. - Simple power boot - Hard reset to factory settings - Changed ethernet cable - Even tried the Kong dd-wrt opensource firmware - Then flashed the normal one again No matter what I try, the Internet LED stays orange. I'm at a loss. This is really frustrating - I purchased this on Oct 1st, and barely 6 months later the $300 router seems to be bricked. What is my recourse? One of the disk was showing increasing Smart errors, so I ordered a replacement disk (ST3000VN000) -to replace the failing disk. No big deal I thought. I had assumed that the failing disk was disk4 - a 3Tb Seagate disk I'd ad some smart errors on before - as I didn't read the emails closely enough. When I was getting an email every few minutes, I shut down the NAS to wait for the replacement disk. It arrived, and I replaced disk 4 with the new disk, and booted up. The system stayed at booting for some time - whilst I now read the message which made it clear that the failing disk was Disk 1. I powered down the NAS. I now replaced the original disk 4 - a ST33000650NS and rebooted. This appeared to work, and the Nas came up and the SMART error messages flooded in. I decided to hotswop the failing disk, Disk 1 (ST2000VN000-1H3164). Then it all started to go wrong..... I get the messages in the following order: Disk removal detected - Disk1 Raid event detected - Data volume will be rebuilt with disk 4 New disk detected Disk 1 Raid event detected - Data volume will be rebuilt with disk 1 Then nothing happened - no raid sync on the volume, and most of my files dissapeared. I downloaded the logs using frontview, and then looked at the volume status - which showed that the X-raid was dead, and that I had two spare disks. That was midnight, so I left the NAS until this morning. (No sleep - a lot isn't backed up.....) This morning the NAS appeared to have dies - though I could look at front view, I couldn't refresh it - and the NAS front panel couldn't be brought to life. I've now powered it down and asking for help. What's the next step? I wonder if I can replace the faiing Disk1 back in order to rebuild the raid array, and when that's done replace it, taking any data hit as getting the Raid array back is the priority.Solved4.3KViews0likes12CommentsReadyNAS 1100 Bit the Dust in a Move. Any ideas for me?
In the madness of a home move, I left my readynas in my desk. I never dreamed the movers would flip the desk up on its side, but when I saw them do it and I heard my ReadyNAS flop around, I realized it could be a very bad thing. So, I just got my NAS out to power it up and upon putting the cord in and turning it on, nuttin.... No lights, no sounds. Just deadness. So, my thoughts are... Could it just be the power supply? Is there a way to test that? In worst case scenario, can I just take all the drives out and install them into my desktop in a raid formation and pick up where I left off? Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated! Craig2.8KViews0likes7CommentsReadynas NVX exhibiting weird behavior
My readynas NVX has been working for years without any issues. Last night something happened where all the shares became inaccessible. Further investigation shows that the file protocols settings are not checked any more, ssh is no longer available. The log file is empty. Health status reports cpu temp rpm 0 put of sync. I'm unable to power off the unit via front view. has my ready nas finally died? I've done a os reinstall but nothing changed. The disks however appear to be fine, file system check occurs without any issues. I have 4 x 3TB drives. Fw version is 4.2.27. Can I move the drives to another readynas unit... Will I loose my data.... appreciate any any assistance anyone can provideSolved
