GSM7224v2 is switching console dead
I hope i got the right board.
Hi,
sorry for my bad english.
I bought a used switch "GSM7224v2".
It's working but i can't access the website. My Router shows me the IP of the switch.
I try with Hyperterminal to get access on the console. It looks dead.
No prompt or any letters. Nothing.
The reset button is doing something. But it doesent reset to factory defaults. Even on the Hyperterminal there is nothing while hit the reset button.
I tried a connection with SSH. Nothing. If i try with FTP on Port 21 I get asked for a username. I don't have any Login data.
Is there any way to reset the switch? Can it be jtaged or something? what about the usb port?
IP from Router with DCHP 192.168.168.82
No connection possible. No Login data.
Thank you for your help in advance

Hi apejovic,
Welcome to the community!
First, could you double check your console port parameter setting?
Baud Rate should be 115200 for Netgear Switch.
Then check if there is reponse on consloe port when hit the reset button.
Second, please try ping Switch IP(192.168.168.82) from PC. It ping is ok, please try open a telnet session to the switch with default port 23.
Hope it helps!

Hi,
thank you for your quick response.:smileyhappy:
Parameter for console is: 115200,8,none,1,none
If I open a telnet connection i get "unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused"
With WinSCP I'm getting asked for a password.:smileysad:
Do I have to disconnect all RJ45 cables before doing something on the switch?
Connected with all cables I can't ping the switch. I'll try tommorow without any cable again.
Thank You

Hi apejovic,
Could you please check the dial switch for console on the back plane of the Switch. There is two choice of 'DB9' and 'USB'. Please make sure it's on DB9 when you connect RS232 cable to the Swtich.
Hope it helps!
