I hope i got the right board. Hi, sorry for my bad english. I bought a used switch "GSM7224v2". It's working but i can't access the website. My Router shows me the IP of the switch. I try with Hyperterminal to get access on the console. It looks dead. No prompt or any letters. Nothing. The reset button is doing something. But it doesent reset to factory defaults. Even on the Hyperterminal there is nothing while hit the reset button. I tried a connection with SSH. Nothing. If i try with FTP on Port 21 I get asked for a username. I don't have any Login data. Is there any way to reset the switch? Can it be jtaged or something? what about the usb port? IP from Router with DCHP 192.168.168.82 No connection possible. No Login data. Hello, My firm currently utilizes Netgear M5300-28G_POE+ switches in a stacked group of 10 devices. We are currently at firmware level 10.0.0.44, and I've been tasked to: a) Update to latest firmware {11.0.0.31} b) Add the company certificate (to avoid the initial https error message) (Is it better to use the company wildcard certificate or the switches selfsigned certificate?) c) Switch access from http, to https Couple questions I have regarding the firmware upgrade are: 1) Is the best way to do this to upgrade one switch at a time? If I reboot the initial switch (management switch) will I reboot the entire stack? 2) Should I add the firmware to all switches before rebooting any switches, then reboot all switches at the same time? This way all the switches will come up simultaneously. 3) Please share your thoughts and let me know if there is a document that details out how best to do this. Thank youSolved4.8KViews0likes6CommentsXS708T 10G/1000M Long Auto Negotiation
Hi guys, I have a XS708T 10G switch for communicating to 2-4 ethernet cameras at a time. The cameras can either be 10G enabled or 1G only, but i have noticed during the camera boot up, the auto negotiation of the switch can take minutes before it finalizes on a rate and connects to the PC. This happens even if i force the ports into 10G or 1000M. If i go directly into the PCI ethernet card, camera connects immediately and I have no problem. I do need these to be networked though, but its extremely unreliable at this point. has anybody else seen this, any ideas?3.2KViews0likes3CommentsM7100-24X - No support for TLS 1.2 on management connections?
New poster here so hi everyone. :smileyhappy: Just wanted run a question by the experts here. My company has just aquired a wildcard certificate from Digicert which we're planning to use for HTTPS management connections to each of our network devices and various servers. After some trial and error, I managed to get the certificate installed on one of our M7100-24X switches and I can make a properly secured connection to its web console. However, I noticed in the HTTPS settings and in the subsequent connection information that the most up-to-date cipher suite it can use is TLS 1.0. As we are in the process of making our organisation PCI DSS compliant, I would like to be able to use TLS 1.2. Have any of you got experience in this area? Does anyone know whether it is possible to enable TLS 1.2 on Netgear switches? Pehaps Netgear are aware that this needs addressing and are working on it for a future firmware release. I've opened a support ticket but any advice from the community would be helpful in the meantime. Thanks.3.2KViews0likes3CommentsPort Error on GSM7224
Hi, We have a very strange issue with one of our GSM7224. A computer is connected to port #13. It has like 4% received error and no transmit error. Here's the test we did: -We change cable in the patch and to the computer from the wall plug, same issue -We connected the patch to port #18, works normally -We connected the patch to another switch, works normally -We connected a laptop into port #13, works normally As soon as I plug the patch into port #13, there is error, and I can see it growing. The switch has the lastest firmware 8.0.1.36, temps are ok, switch has been reboot yesterday. With the test I did, I have no idea what's going on there. Any idea? I get a very weak download speed on wifi after I plugged in my Netgear GS108E switch. I have a 100/10 (down/up) Mbit/s fiber connection. Have tried a lot of things but nothing seems to help the speed. What have I missed? Router gives me full speed with cable and wifi. Switch gives me full speed with cable but not wifi (only 15 % of my speed). Access Point gives me full wifi speed (100 Mbit/s) when connected to router. Equipment: 1 Thomson router 1 Netgear GS108E switch 2 Ubiquiti UniFi Long Range Access Point My setup ist kind of easy, Router -> Switch -> UniFi Long Range Access Point (see image below).
