5 TopicsUnable to change all network names for my tri-band router
It started out with three default network names: NETGEAR95 NETGEAR95-5G-1 NETGEAR95-5G-2 The NETGEAR95 is for the 2.4. No matter what I do, there is no way for me to modify the name of NETGEAR95-5G-1. When I log on to the Netgear Genie via the desktop app or the mobile app when logged on to any one of the three networks, I am only able to modify the names of NETGEAR95 and NETGEAR95-5G-2. It is seriously annoying. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!Solved3.8KViews0likes5CommentsNETGEAR AC1900 - How to change Default rout password, I have done this in past.. Can't figure it out
I have a netgear AC1900 I need to change the basic standard default password that is used to get into the Router. I'm not talking about the network password. It comes standard with Admin and "Password"... I have always changed it, as in any real business environment it is a must to have this changed and secured. I did see another posting- but it had NO information.. just a guy getting condending about nobody needs to do this but the CIA .. FBI.. was crazy- apparently doesn't work in a real business enviroment- and just wants to ream people. I see someone else was asking but really just gave up after they got blasted by that guy.. and the thread was closed with no real answer - just that it can't be done.. of course it can... Please if anyone has the procedure to do this simple change on the AC1900 please let me know. Thank you in advance!SolvedFactory Default Reset is MESSED UP on N450 CG3000Dv2
I was using my N450 with Time Warner, then switched so I decided to sell it. I tried resetting it to factory default, but when it finished, the result was a completely different SSID than the one printed on the side, and of course the pass key didn't work. The sticker on the side says the factory default ssid should be D3DA66, with password (key) 3HW143WE019AE (same as the serial #). But after repeated attempts at resetting it (including holding it down for 30 seconds with no power and then for 30 more seconds after plugging it in), it keeps going to ssid CG3000DV260. anyone... know why it's doing this? how to get it to return to the settings printed on the side? a default password key for ssid CG3000DV260, if one exists? i'd be happy with an answer to any of the questions above.5.5KViews0likes3CommentsNighthawk R8000 Issues - Intermittent Disconnection and now can't login after reset to factory defau
Good morning, I have been using this Netgear Nighthawk router for quite some time and have been overall very happy with how far it will transmit signal through the house and the speed we get over the wifi. However over the past month it has been randomly having issues where it gets to a point during any part of the day where it continues to cycle and no one can connect to it consistently and if they are there is no internet. I finally called it quits this morning and decided to do a factory reset on it to try and solve the problem. However it has now created an even bigger problem. I can no longer access the login page for the router. Every time I enter in the ip address for the router it tries to take me to a website rather than the router login page and then says I am not connected to the internet. However windows thinks I am connected to the internet according to the Network and Sharing Center, though I have tried accessing other sites and I am clearly not on the internet. I have tried resetting again using the button on the back, watching the power light until it starts flashing and then releasing for the reset, but that hasn't worked either. I also read some things about running it through another router and connecting that way but it won't work etiher. If I cannot connect to it then I am going to assume it is trashed and toss it. I did try calling technical support but they wouldn't help me with it since it was out of warranty and the previous owner was an old room mate before he left the router with me. Any help would be appreciated here. The router was using Firmware Version V1.0.3.4_1.1.2Solved4.6KViews0likes5Comments
