SSID suddenly reset

For no apparent reason my c3700 lost all settings including my ssid and password, now it is reset to default ssid/password (on bottom of router) what could have caused this.  How can I  avoid this in the future

Maybe a power flash caused it to happen . If it keeps happening I suggest contacting support.

I was not doing a flash upgrade - whAt else could cause that.

What’s the best way to get a hold of support post warranty ?

Also I’m switching from Cable to fiber soon can I still use my C 3700 is just a router and not a cable modem if so what would I need to change in the settings

With no Ethernet WAN/Internet port, I don't see how.  You ought to be
able to use it as a wireless access point, however.  A step-by-step for
        a C6300 should be here:

That's for a C6300, but the steps are about the same for any other
router (any make/model) which lacks a one-step WAP option, including a
        C3700.
