5 TopicsCannot delete ReadyDr Share /Disk space utilisation
I have previously setup a ReadyDR job (local to local i.e. within the same Readynas) to test the process, I subsequentley deleted the job and then tried to delete share created by the ReadyDR job. The deletion of the share failes with the error message 'Cound not delete share due to snapshot deletion failure' Code 1004030000. I also have other ReadyDr jobs that are running sucessfully between this ReadyNas 516 and a ReadyNas 2100 (destination) but what I am noticing is that the free space on the ReadyNas 516 (source) is being reduced by 0.01 TB each day. There currently is not a signiticant amount of change on the systyem and I am concerned that the ReadyDR jobs are generating additional consuption of disk space. Any suggestions on 1) Removing the share and 2) on disk space utilisation. Currently running firmaware, 6.6.0 on both devices.Solved4.8KViews0likes5CommentsCan't move, delete or rename file
I have one file in a share on my NAS and I can't rename, remove or move it. I have reset the permissions under shares and also reset the permissions on the complete share. I have tried to remove it from my mac using different services AFP/SMB/FTP and also tried to remove the file through the HTTP-service/interface. Still no succes. If I delete the file in Finer on mac, it just reappeares. The NAS is updated with the latest firmware and rebooted and "repaired". No difference. The file won't move. So I am a mac user, but I recently bought a gaming PC to use just for games, I use my ReadyNAS to hold media that I watch on TVs with have mac minis which are HTPC Anyways, my computer came with Windows 10, and as Ive seen in the forums its very difficult to get windows to see and access the files. I had 2 accounts on my ReadyNAS - admin and Server Because Win 10 kept rejecting my username and password, I thought maybe if I deleted the user "Server" and add it back in it might accept the credentials. However when I did this, a huge amount of files disapeared. I was holding those files in \\ReadyNAS\home\Server I hooked up my drives seperatly to a program thats used to recover files. I can see all the files Im missing, however I do not know how to hook up all 6 drives to my PC which I need to do in order to recover those files The files are mostly pictures, my media was not in the same folder thankfully. However those pictures have the birth of my son and wedding, Im stressing!!! How can I get access to these files back, I know theyre there I Can see them in Recaime (a program for windows that I used) Surely there is something I can do to get those files back without losing themSolved4.4KViews0likes11CommentsUnable to delete snapshots
I have 1.24Tb of data on my NAS102 but I have been getting messages that I cannot do a Windows Backup due to insufficient space. Looking into it I find there is over 1.98Tb of Snapshots and only 298.11Gb of free space. The NAS102 has 6.5.0 Firmware and when I went online it told me to go to the "Shares" option and then click on the "Snapshot" button that is next to the "New Share" button. The only problem is that there is NO "Snapshot" button on the "Shares" page. Perhaps you can advise me how to control the frequency of snapshots and how to actually delete snapshots when there does not appear to be any way to access them. Thank you from a very frustrated netgear user. I am using Win 10 Pro 64bit, TalkTalk is my ISP and I have 56+Mb/s downstream and 18+Mb/s upstream connection speed.Solved7.4KViews0likes5CommentsReadyNAS 104 - Cannot delete/move some files, even as Admin #26331978
Hi, I have the ReadyNas104 with firmware version 6.4.1 Generally I've had no issues, until recently when I tried to delete some folders/files. There is only one user/share which is myself. Finding it strange I logged in as Admin instead but still I was unable to delete/move some folders/files. Whenever Ben/Admin try the only options available are copy, browse and recover - Pic showing no delete/move options This isn't affecting most folders/files, just a select few. Confused I clicked on Shares and double checked that Admin permissions are set to read/write which they are - Pic of permissions I decided to try deleting the affected folders via Windows instead but got the error message that i don't have permission - Pic showing Windows error message Using windows I discovered that the owner is 'root (Unix User\root)' which I assume is the readyNas OS? - Pic showing how Windows displays the owner info Could someone please help me regain permission so that I can free up this unwanted 60GB of space.
