I've been struggling with my C6300 Modem/Router combo for over 3 months now. I am at the end of my sanity. While I am streaming video, connecting to the company via virtual office(VPN), etc., my internet connection drops out on that device and switches to "no inernet connection" (I can still see my home network, just not the internet). The other devices in the home continue to function correctly. This happens on different operating systems, different laptops, and even my smart TV. The fix is either to disconnect and reconnect to wifi or reboot the C6300. I have had over a dozen conversations with Time Warner Cable who has come out to my house multiple times, has replaced lines, and assures me that the problem is not with their network. I've verified that the power levels are in range according to manufacturer specs (http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/24311?cid=wmt_netgear_organic). I've removed all splitters and connect the modem/router directly to the wire entering my home. I've also tried all kinds of different wireless channels both on the 2.4 and 5GHz ranges. Lastly, I've confirmed that I am on the proper firmware version. When connecting a device, I have a strong signal each time the issue occurs. It has been occurring DAILY usually multiple times per day.2.3KViews0likes1CommentC3000 Wifi Cable Modem Router Comcast Internet Trouble
Last week I started having trouble with internet speeds dropping out, websites would time out and not load all the way or not at all. Speed tests time out or if they do test speed is below 1MB down or up. Comcast Technicians came out and checked all their equipment, everything seemed to check out except for the modem. So I bought another modem, 2 of them, and they both did the same thing. I did a ping test and it said I have about 40% packet loss. My downstream is -5.4 dBmV and the upstream is 38.5 dBmV. Comcast support is no help at all and I dont know what else to do. They told me to contact you but I dont think its the modem as Ive tried 3 different ones already with same results. I purchased the CM400 modem and a Netgear router last week for my new apartment. I set everything up as instructed, and called Comcast to activate my service and add the modem to my account. They said everything went fine, but it wouldn't connect to the internet. The power and internet lights are lit up green, and the down stream, up stream, and ethernet lights are all amber. No matter what I do, powering it off, switching outlets, anything, the lights never change. They all come on instantly once the modem is plugged in. Comcast thinks it might be the coax wall hook up, but I don't think they are correct, since as I said, whenever I unplug things from the ports, nothing changes. Whether the ethernet cord is plugged in or not, it's always amber. Please help me solve this issue. I have a chromebook, which has no ethernet port, so I have no way to directly connect to the modem. Thank you.3.5KViews1like1Comment
