4 Topicsafter migration no access to readycloud shares for non-admin users
I have completed upgrade of user accounts to mynetgear accounts, firmware on RN104, new readycloud app version, and NAS server migration to mynetgear admin account on 2 different RN104 netgear boxes. When we go to readycloud.netgear.com with the admin account for the box, we are able to browse the shares located on the box and use the ReadyCloud app to sync shares from pc. Everything works. However, when a user that is _not_ the admin account for the NAS server logs on to readycloud.netgear.com via browser, the user sees the Nas server icon but no shares - none of the shared folders that user has been granted access to show up. Likewise, for the non-admin account the readycloud PC app fails to connect to the NAS server - sees "offline". This is a little confusing because I support 2 different NAS boxes, and we have 3 main accounts. Both NAS boxes are RN104, and both display the _exact_ same behavior. Account 1 is admin on NAS1 and can use readycloud.netgear.com via browser and readycloud app just fine, but only on box NAS1. Account 2 is admin on NAS2 and can use readycloud.netgear.com via browser and readycloud app just fine, but only on box NAS2. Even tho this account is granted access to shares on NAS1 box they do not show up in the readycloud.netgear.com web page and the readycloud app shows NAS1 to be offline. NAS2 works fine for this user. Account 3 is granted share access to specific file shares on box NAS1 and NAS2. This account is not able to use readycloud.netgear.com web site or readycloud app to access _either_ NAS server. Readycloud.netgear.com does not show any shares for the 2 NAS boxes, and the readycloud app shows both to be offline. This account is normally in the same network as NAS2, and can access the shares on NAS2 via SMB and the local network just fine. In the migration process on both NAS boxes I used the "leave" and "join" buttons on the Cloud Tab under the readycloud icon, primarily because I was looking at a netgear-supplied instruction that told me I needed to. I re-added share access to the file shares in question after joining / migrating, and the users all accepted the e-mail invitations that were sent as part of the rejoin process.8.7KViews0likes33CommentsCopying data across from old to new NAS
Hi all, New to community so forgive any mistakes! I have recently bought a RN204 to replace my WD Live Duo as I likes the features. Now, I want to migrate all my files across and was wondering if there is any quick way of doing this rather than drag and drop through a mac? This method works fine, but as I have close to 3TB of data, it is taking such a long time (as in days!!!). Also, if I select a large chunk, say 20GB's to transfer through the night, in the morning I get an error message and most of the time I have had to delete and restart the transfer over again! Any help is appreciated! Thanks, BangaliMigrate from dead ReadyNAS NV+ to new ReadyNAS 104
(I have searched the forum, cannot find a clear answer...) I have an 8 year old ReadyNAS NV+, with 4 1TB drives in XRaid config S/N 000D-A201-24E0 P/N RNV2-S2-0000 Disks are all in working condition; array is intact The unit will not power on; this happened last week (12/14/2015) after a power outage I would like to purchase new 104 unit Can I simply take disks out, put them in new unit, and power on? Any other options? ThanksSolved3.1KViews0likes2CommentsReadyNAS312 move disks to replacement 312 - easy?
Hello, hopefully a simple question. I have a (months old) 312 unit on OS6.6.1 that is making me sweat with its behaviour (call it UNIT-A). I have an identical NEW 312 unit also on OS6.6.1 and a basic build that has been added to ReadyCloud ( call it UNIT B) Both are 2 Bay units. Is it really as easy as: Remove UNITB from ReadyCloud Factory reset UNIT-B (the new one). Gracefully shut it down. Remove its disks 2*2TB disks. Backup the config of UNITA (the worrying live one), Gracefully shut it down. Take its 2*2TB disks and put them into UNITB Start it up. UNITA is linked to ReadyCloud and has several cloud users. Do I need to unlink it from the ReadyCloud before taking the disks out and putting them into the new UNITB? Assuming UNITB boots OK with the swapped disks, should it then be added to ReadyCloud using the same account as UNITA;s Then, restore the config from UNITA to reinstate the users & permissions etc? I've based this question on the vague sheet: http://kb.netgear.com/22895/ReadyNAS-OS-6-Migrating-a-volume?cid=wmt_netgear_organic2.9KViews0likes1Comment
