Was trying to troubleshoot some network errors after my spouce had TWC "assist" with the cable modem. After sorting out the issues TWC caused (Side rant here: (reset the modem, disabled firewall, removed ip filtering, and turned on a DHCP service despite being a bridge modem, reset password to the default, and generally left everything wide open) I noticed that I was getting duplicate icmp from my XBox one. 64 bytes from 10.10.1.90: icmp_seq=418 ttl=128 time=4.973 ms 64 bytes from 10.10.1.90: icmp_seq=418 ttl=128 time=4.996 ms (DUP!) When I pull up more detail in wire shark I can see the replies as duplicates to the request. From my review of the details the only differences in the duplicate request is the message identification, which makes sense as it is a separate reply. More troubleshooting steps I have taken trying to isolate the issue: - Created XBox specifc port forwarding and then removed. - Cleared arp aches on all networked devices with tables - Removed all other devices from the network - Reset the Xbox - Changed dhcp ip reservation schemes - Turned UpNP on/off - Restarted all devices (had to say it) Am stumped. What am I missing?Solved7.7KViews0likes3CommentsUnable to change MTU, Readynas 104 OS6.4.1
I was attempting to adjust my MTU down from 1500 to 1472 or 1483 in order to troubleshoot network performance issues, and the UI rejected the changes with Error 4004019998. Does anyone know what this error means and how I can resolve it to change my MTU?4.6KViews0likes16CommentsOpenVPN download speed extremely slow on Readynas duo 104
Hello, I've recently set up a OpenVPN tunnel from my ReadyNas Duo 104 with my VPN service provider (ivpn.net). Everything is working fine, but I am experiencing massive performance losses. I'm on a 100/10 Mbit connection and without VPN i can max out my bandwidth's download speed on my NAS. As soon as i connect to the VPN my download speed goes down to as low as 8Mbit/s. I have no problems what so ever using the vpn on other platforms (windows, ios), and the server responds within 20-30ms. I've been messing around with the MTU size, different ports and everything I could find out. Does anyone know what I can do? Is the hardware in the NAS simply too weak for encrypting my data to meet those speeds? Any tips are helpful. Thanks!4KViews0likes2Comments
