I just upgraded to Windows 10 about 2 days ago and as soon as I upgraded, my WNDA4100 Network Adapter quit working. The LED's no longer light up when it is plugged in. I went to netgear's website and downloaded the latest firmware which says it is compatible with Windows 10. After I install the firmware, I go to device manager and click properties on the adapter and I get this error message: Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) {Unable to Load Device Driver} %hs device driver could not be loaded. Error Status was 0x%x I have tried running the firmware install in windows 8 compatibility mode as that was suggested by other people, but it never finishes installation. It doesn't lock up, but nothing ever happens. Netgear is not willing to help me one bit cause it's older than 90 days, blah blah. If anyone else has the same trouble, I'd greatly appreciate some help. I am currently using a really long ethernet cord that stretches my living room. I really don't want to have to buy another adapter and with windows 10 being so new, idk what new adapter would even work.Solved76KViews1like18CommentsVLAN Tagging for Guest Network
I've seen a couple of posts about this in the past on this forum, but all of them appear to be kinda old, and before you could uncheck the "Allow Guests to see each other and access my local network" while in AP mode. Now it looks like you can uncheck that in the version of firmware that I have (1.11.0.20). I have my own router/DHCP/firewall/gateway that I want to keep using, so I have put my Orbi network into AP only mode. However, I would still like to have a guest network that I'm able to separate at my router. I would like to do this via VLAN tagging. So my questions are: Is this something that Orbi is capable of now? If not, is this something that will be available in the future? And if so, is there a way to be notified when it is available? What actually happens when you uncheck "Allow Guests to see each other and access my local network" while in AP only mode? Does the Orbi just start NAT'ing and serving it's own DHCP at that point? Lastly, assuming that it's not already a thing, I would like to chime in with others here and say that I would REALLY like to see VLAN tagging as an option in the advanced interface.R6400 Networking speeds
good morning all, i have a R6400 router installed in my home and i seem to be having issues on one of my har wire lines i have ran, to note i have ran Cat 5e thoughout my whole house, currently i have about 200Mbps speeds from my modem using Comcast as my ISP, i have my descktop hard wired to router, i have another line plugged into the router that runs to master bedroom (nothing plugged into it on that end) another one from the router to my living room where that line goes into a gigabit switch (in my gigabit switch i have a PS4,a Android TV box, surround sound reciever and tv) and the last port on the router goes down to another switch on my desk that goes to my NAS drive and another bedroom in the house (nothing connected in room) Ok so on my desktop PC im getting about 190 to 207 Mbps when i run a test, no big deal its perfect but when i try to run a speed test on anything in my living room i cant seem to get over 20Mbps, so i tried taking the line out of the gigabit switch and bypassing it strait into my laptop and again not more than 20Mbps now note i went back to my office where the router is and i took the cable that goes to my living room and went directly to my modem with it went back to laptop to run test again and now i get just over 100Mbps, so seems like my Cat 5e cable is good and that the router seems to be limiting my speeds somehow, can anyone else help with this issue? what could possibly be the issue here? sorry for all of the back and fourth stuff but i was trying to give as much description as i could with my systemSolved
