I just upgraded to Windows 10 about 2 days ago and as soon as I upgraded, my WNDA4100 Network Adapter quit working. The LED's no longer light up when it is plugged in. I went to netgear's website and downloaded the latest firmware which says it is compatible with Windows 10. After I install the firmware, I go to device manager and click properties on the adapter and I get this error message: Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) {Unable to Load Device Driver} %hs device driver could not be loaded. Error Status was 0x%x I have tried running the firmware install in windows 8 compatibility mode as that was suggested by other people, but it never finishes installation. It doesn't lock up, but nothing ever happens. Netgear is not willing to help me one bit cause it's older than 90 days, blah blah. If anyone else has the same trouble, I'd greatly appreciate some help. I am currently using a really long ethernet cord that stretches my living room. I really don't want to have to buy another adapter and with windows 10 being so new, idk what new adapter would even work.Solved76KViews1like18CommentsVLAN Tagging for Guest Network
I've seen a couple of posts about this in the past on this forum, but all of them appear to be kinda old, and before you could uncheck the "Allow Guests to see each other and access my local network" while in AP mode. Now it looks like you can uncheck that in the version of firmware that I have (1.11.0.20). I have my own router/DHCP/firewall/gateway that I want to keep using, so I have put my Orbi network into AP only mode. However, I would still like to have a guest network that I'm able to separate at my router. I would like to do this via VLAN tagging. So my questions are: Is this something that Orbi is capable of now? If not, is this something that will be available in the future? And if so, is there a way to be notified when it is available? What actually happens when you uncheck "Allow Guests to see each other and access my local network" while in AP only mode? Does the Orbi just start NAT'ing and serving it's own DHCP at that point? Lastly, assuming that it's not already a thing, I would like to chime in with others here and say that I would REALLY like to see VLAN tagging as an option in the advanced interface.GS108 to GS108T but only 100Mbps between them?
Hi, I have both a GS108 and a GS108T connected together. The GS108 has two PCs connected, both connecting at 1Gbps. The GS108T has 6 100Mbps devices (avr, blu-ray player etc) and a gigabit Asus router connected. However the connection between the two switches is only showing 100Mbps? Any thoughts on why this would be? There's only about 15m between the two switches so I don't understand why they won't connect at 1Gbps. Are there special ports on them for connecting between the two switches? Many thanks, Paul.Solved8.5KViews0likes4CommentsIssues with IP cameras and Ranger Extender
I have been going back and forth with my IP camera manufacturer regarding signal problems, off line issues etc. For the point of clarification, my network name is Daniel, and the Extender is Daniel_EXT The latest recommendation from their support people is this: The issue may be with your WiFi extender. When you use a WiFi extender to improve signal strength for your cameras, please make sure it has the same exact name as the original router network. This way, the camera will choose to connect to the strongest network of the same name. Otherwise, the camera will get confused and connect to the original network that has the weaker signal strength. I can see from your dashboard that your extender’s SSID is “Daniel_EXT”. I suggest you change the extender’s SSID to match your main network’s SSID. This can be done through your router settings. My question is, does this make sense? Can you even name the Exteder the same as the main network?LACP no longer working on RN516 running 6.7.5
LACP bonding no longer seems to work with my RN516 on 6.7.5, the switch shows only one interface up, as if the teaming is Active Backup, not LACP. The MTU keeps resetting to 1500 from 9000, as if that is the only thing it can get to work and all the uplink gear supports jumbo frame so that shouldn't be an issue. Have tried dissolving the bond, resetting all the MTUs and re-bonding, but it still doesn't work. Works just fine on my RN626X, so possibly a model specific issue. Hash setting is L2 on both models, switch is a XS728T on firmware 6.5.1.30. Advice?6.9KViews0likes26CommentsUsing Orbi with Cat6 home network and Verizon Fios Gigabit
Hi - looking for advice on how to best set up my Orbi system with a newly installed Cat6 home network and Verizon Fios Gigabit internet in a 3-storey wood frame row house. At the moment we have our Verizon modem (Fios Quantum Gateway Router) connected via ethernet cable to the main Orbi router in the basement, and I have 1 x Orbi satellite positioned on each of the upper 2 x floors. Wi-FI on the Fios router has been disabled and AP mode has been applied to the Orbi network as per guidance in various posts - the network operates as expected and performance is relatively solid, though up/down speeds are generally lower than I would hope for with the Fios Gigabit connection. As mentioned, we recently installed a Cat6 network in the house so I am wondering if I can take advantage of it to establish direct physical connections between the main Orbi router and the satellites - plug the main Orbi router into the network patch panel in the basement, and then plug each of the 2 x Orbi satellites into their own ethernet port on the upper floors so communication between the 3 x units is fully wired? I'm no expert, but in theory it seems like this should work and provide a much more robust network than if Orbi system is fully wireless. Any advice/suggestions very much appreciated!R6400 Networking speeds
good morning all, i have a R6400 router installed in my home and i seem to be having issues on one of my har wire lines i have ran, to note i have ran Cat 5e thoughout my whole house, currently i have about 200Mbps speeds from my modem using Comcast as my ISP, i have my descktop hard wired to router, i have another line plugged into the router that runs to master bedroom (nothing plugged into it on that end) another one from the router to my living room where that line goes into a gigabit switch (in my gigabit switch i have a PS4,a Android TV box, surround sound reciever and tv) and the last port on the router goes down to another switch on my desk that goes to my NAS drive and another bedroom in the house (nothing connected in room) Ok so on my desktop PC im getting about 190 to 207 Mbps when i run a test, no big deal its perfect but when i try to run a speed test on anything in my living room i cant seem to get over 20Mbps, so i tried taking the line out of the gigabit switch and bypassing it strait into my laptop and again not more than 20Mbps now note i went back to my office where the router is and i took the cable that goes to my living room and went directly to my modem with it went back to laptop to run test again and now i get just over 100Mbps, so seems like my Cat 5e cable is good and that the router seems to be limiting my speeds somehow, can anyone else help with this issue? what could possibly be the issue here? sorry for all of the back and fourth stuff but i was trying to give as much description as i could with my systemSolvedGuest network password--nothing works
Hi Netgear! I'm trying to enable my guest network. Nothing I enter into the password field is accepted as a password and I get the message telling me about the "8 to 63 ASCII or 64 hex digits." The latter I assume is WRONG, as it is asking for 64-bit number _represented_ in base 16 (which makes it 64 bits / 4 bits-per-hex digit = 16 hex digits). Aaaaaaanyway, so, nothing I enter is accepted: "a" -- No. "a123b123" -- No. "t1234567" -- No. "Test1234" -- No, and I've attached a picture of this. 64-bit number in base 16 --No. So, my question is, what is one supposed to put in the field for a guest network password? See the attached picture--I get this "error message" for any string I put into the password field. Hi Guys, I'm in need of some assistance. I've just updated the rn214 to 6.6.1 and the nas now states no ip address on the front panel. A shutdown has not made any difference. It's directly connected to the router and was working fine before the update. Any suggestions?Solved5.6KViews0likes11CommentsNetwork configuration and Computer name change
Hi guys! I'm brand new to this forum and was directed here by customer support. I was helped two weeks back to get my NAS back online but when I have tried to log in since it just says it's offline (attached is a screenshot of the message). I have recently changed the computers name and can't help but think that may have thrown off the configuration but the technical wizardry the customer support provided was amazing to re-configure everything - but there's no way I couldn't follow what he was doing or understand it. Could anybody lend me a helping hand to try and do this myself? TomSolved5.5KViews0likes10Comments
