3 TopicsXR500 internet time setup and SSH access
Hi experts. Couple of questions for you. I recently bought the XR500 as I got seduced by the DumaOS screens. I previsouly had a Netgear R7000 which I had flashed with DD-WRT Kongo. Liked it a lot but to be honnest the idea of having fancy bandwidth graphs pushed me to the XR500. While the interface is really neat, there are number of features I miss from DD-WRT, and some other upgrades I am hoping for (more icons for the devices e.g. switches, the ability to disconnect a device from the network as the blocking feature works only if the device tries to connect...). I am running version V2.2.1.10 which I believe is the latest one. To the questions: - I must be a little tired or something... how do we change the timezone ? Programming the wifi ON/OFF on specific hours would be much easier if the router was set on my timezone... - is SSH connection blocked ? putty tells me "connection refused"? - I seem to be able to access the interface thru HTTP or HTTPS... how do I limit to HTTPS? thanks much! My router just updated to Firmware 1.0.8.34_1.2.15 and seems like they messed up the NTP that was fixed a few releases back. My router is now stuck on May 8th 2017 every time it starts and the logs say it failed to update NTP. This also causes VPN connections to fail. An additional issue, all files created or copied to a drived connected to the router will have the timestamp of the router, making file and folder time stamps incorrect.SolvedR7500 System Time Not Correct
The system time on my Netgear R7500 Router is not correct and is reading Dec 31st, 1969. I have a static IP set using googles DNS servers, I have attempted reseting the router to the factory image, downgrading then re-upgrading to the latest firmware, several reboots, etc... There is no NTP setting on the router itself so I am pretty much stuck with no way to correct the system time. I am trying to use the VPN on the router it is not working properly and I am betting this likely has to do with the time being off. Any help is greatly appreciated.
