I am trying to connect my wired Samsung Blu-ray player to the internet and I keep getting the message that the HTTP port is disabled. I have tried assigning its own IP address and also entering the router settings manually into the player. Nothing works, so I’m looking for suggestions.Solved87KViews0likes11Commentsgs748ts mac based port security
Trying to set up the switch (firmware version 5.2.0.11) as a basic managed switch and the only feature that needs to be enabled is mac based port security. I'd like to statically set the allowed mac address on a specific port. Any other device that connects to that particular switch port should either result in the port being shutdown, or just drop all traffic to / from that port. The user manual (page 6-17) says mac addressses can be statically configured, but I cannot find that option anywhere in the UI. Is this something that can be done with this model switch? What are the steps to achieve static mac assignment to designated port association? Any help would be appreciated.Solved9.8KViews0likes3CommentsNighthawk R8000 - Port forwarding issues - Frustrated at so simple a task
Talk about wasting time for a simple task like Port forwarding: Goal: Establishing an External Accessable Minecraft Server Equipment: - MC Server : Mac Mini (running successfully) Firewall not running - NH R8000 Router - SB6141 Modem (modem is a straight passthrough ; no FW) - Internet Service TWC Created Custom Service as per instructions in router: - Port forward to port 25565 against Servers internal IP address 192.168.1.X Accessable 'whithin' the network. Canyouseeme.org doesn't see the port as open Testing: - Connected server directly to Modem - Port found as open; Successful connected externally to the MC server - Validation that TWC is NOT blocking this port Dropped back into network and still no luck. Was on latest firmware; but saw a post from someone at NG who suggested for someone else to downgrade. Did that to v 1.0.2.46_1.0.97 - Results: No luck Also tried setting NAT Filtering to Open So besides getting rid of this Router; what next?Solved5.7KViews0likes2CommentsDirect web traffic through ports 80 and 443 to a specific server through the FVS336G
Router acted up and was factory reset. I have a web server located in our network. When accessing the server's ip from a browser, I can see the website locally. When trying to access the web address from the outside, I get a cert error and then the netgear login page. What settings do I need to do to get traffic coming in on port 80 and 443 to this specific server's IP address?5.6KViews0likes2CommentsEthernet cable out not working
I just bought a EX3700. The only reason is because i have an interactive TV box that only takes ethernet cords for some reason. My router is in the other room so i don't want a really long cable going between rooms. Problem is that the wifi works fine but the ethernet out connection doesn't (which was the main reason of buying the thing) any ideas?5.1KViews0likes3Commentsc6300 usb port - cables do not insert fully
firmware version 2..01.18... purchased a year ago. Now I am trying to connect USB storage (Seagate Backup 4TB USB 3.0), and it appears as though the supplied cable only goes in so far. The USB light goes on. I have waited, rebooted, re-waited, but the ReadyShare does not recognize a USB device is connected. I connected the Seagate to my laptop (Windows7), and the cable fully inserted into the slot, device drivers automatically loaded, and I was able to access the drive. My question is: a) do I need an adapter or USB hub to plug into the C6300 USB port ?; and b) are there any steps I can perform to resolve this (I have checked out numerout youtube videos and netgear community posts, but nothing hits on this particular topic). Thanks in advance. -SteveSolved3.7KViews0likes4CommentsHow to remotely access AC785 webadmin page
I have a Netgear Aircard AC785S and wondered how I can remotely access the webadmin page. For example the local paage is http://netgear.aircard so from the wan is it http://x.x.x.x:8080/index.html. What port do I need to know or is it default 80 ? Also its a great shame that there is no DDNS available on this device.Setting up EX7000 access point without wiring it to the router?
I’m not too tech savvy but from what I read you set the EX7000 up as an access point and connect it to the router using the Ethernet ports. However that’s not what I want exactly. I was wondering if I can connect the extender to the CAT6/Ethernet port(not sure what the correct name of port on the wall is called) on the wall in my room upstairs instead of hardwiring it to the router. The router is downstairs in my brother’s room. Our routers connect to the internet via CAT6 ports instead of coax since the ONT box in our garage acts as a modem (according to the Best Buy employees I’ve talked to). So instead of having a modem connected via coax and a router connected to the modem, we just plug in the router with out the need of a modem device. So I was hoping I could just do the same with the extender and not it connect to the router wirelessly or have it hardwired to the router itself.990Views0likes1Comment
