9 TopicsPort 22 SSH closed, not stealthed.
Just loaded up the latest firmware for the XR500 2.2.0.4 and noticed that (yes I know shields up is not the greatest these days) but it came back saying all ports stealthed but that port 22 is closed. All other ports are stealthed. Anyone know whats going on there? I cant do a hard reset because the router has the password issue that the r7800 had where '\' symbol causes a 400 server error. Since I have a 63 character ASCII pasword I'm waiting for that to get fixed as im not changing my password to exclude that symbol on 12 devices. its bad enough typing it in the first time on a TV with a remote control! So back to the port 22 issue SSH login protocol, anyone else seeing this and any idea on a fix. Or is this a sit and wait for it to get fixed in a new update or is it even meant to be like this. My R7800 shows all steathed on latest firmware which also fixed the '\' password symbol issue.Solved8.2KViews0likes6CommentsPorts closed after firmware update
Hi all, I think my Modem was updated by Spectrum (V2.01.18) recently and now a lot of my devices that I remote into are not available. I called Spectrum support and they said that they don't block ports and I should contact the manufacturer and they should be able to open the ports back up. Seems like all my ports except for 8000, 8080, and a couple others are open. The rest are closed. I couldn't find any posts here. Has anyone gotten this problem? Any fixes? Ports that need to be open: UDP 123 UDP 500 UDP 4500 Ports 52000-59999 Please let me know the best way to do this....Port Passthrough to DrayTek
Hi Guys, I may be hounded from here for the very mention of a different brand however I am in need of som knowledgable help. We have an office that has just been setup in Qatar and we were told things that didnt turn out exactly as planned. The end result is that we have the Netgear router that will not seem to let us pass through the WAN IP to the DrayTek router. What we are looking to do is allow a true DMZ as such instead of the transformed passthrough we currently get (port remapping). Anyone on here managed to do this?port blocking issues with X8 (UDP, TCP)
Hi. First time posting. I need to confirm that the X8 is not set to block certain UDP ports (37, 123) or TCP ports (37, 80, 443, 5005, 5222, 5223, or 7287). I've looked through the routerlogin.net menus and can't figure out where to find this information. Background: I searched the community quite a bit and didn't find anything on this issue. I have a TiVo (Premiere XL) and I have the Nighthawk X8. They're connecting via wifi. Everything was working fine for a few weeks, great connection. Then the Amazon app on TiVo started malfunctioning. The screen would freeze up and I'd have to reboot. I talked with TiVo support and with my ISP, and the diagnostics reported this (possible) port blocking issue. Help sorting it out would be appreciated. So I am setting up our new satellite office for the law firm I work for. Our new landlord graciousely provides free wi-fi to his tenants. His netgear router is on the second floor while our office is on the first floor. I can pick up the signal ok but I have ran into a dilema. We are using two voip net phones which both need a physical ethernet port on a gateway or access point to function. So we are extending the wi-fi signal with the extender so as to plug in the voip phones into its provided ethernet ports. Everything works just fine untill thr PC we are using for the office shuts down or restarts. At that point the phones both loose connection even though they are not physically plugged into the PC and only plugged into the ports of the extender and a power outlet. Rhis is problamatic because I have specifically set up the pc to allow the SSHD to easily be connected or disconnected. As we do not staff the satellite office full time we are reluctant to leave the office unattended with sensitive client data stored on the pc. So we need to be able to bring the drive to the office and take it with us when we leave. Unfortunately it appears that the extender cannot keep the network signal routed through the ports without relying on the computers wireless connection to the extended ssid. That means without leaving the pc on we cant receive calls or faxes to the office. Does anyone know of a viable solution to this problem?4.5KViews0likes4CommentsReadyNas Duo V2 - After restart, nothing works
