When I try to install readyshare printer 2.36 it says that the installation was complete and requires restart. After restart it says the installation was incomplete and does not work. I tried this on 2 different computers with two different versions of Sierra OS with the same result. By the way ... this discussion post website would not let me enter anything in the "Model (Recommended - Helps the community give the best answers" dialog box.Solved1.7KViews1like2CommentsWill R7000 connection to USB printer work for both wireless and wired computers?
I currently have a Windows 10 computer connected by Ethernet cable to my R7000 router. The computer currently connects to my printer's one USB port. When I change use of that USB port to connect to the router, will the cabled computer be able to access the printer through the Ethernet-to-router-to-printer route? My purpose is to print with my WiFi laptops.Solved4.1KViews0likes5CommentsR7000 connectivity with HP wired laser jet
I've been using a HP Laserjet M553 for a few months connected via lan cable to the R7000 and it's been fine. But recently (last few weeks or so) it's lost connectivity. First time I was able to get it to come back by powercycling the HP and assumed it was that but now it wont connect at all and I've power cycled both the printer and the router. If I connect the printer to the router on the ADSL it connects and gets an IP instantly, so it doesn't seem like it's the cable or the printer (although I will try a new cable to be sure). I have tried it in different ports on the R7000 but it doesnt seem to be any different. Any suggestions?Solved4.4KViews0likes7CommentsNew R7800 will not connect to Brother printer
I just bought a new Netgear R7800 this morning, and have been able to get everything set up and working except for my printer. I currently use a Brother HL-2275DW using a wired ethernet cable into the router, and while it was working fine for my previous Asus router, on the Netgear it never fully connects. The router always shows the LAN port, whichever one I choose, as amber (never goes solid white), and the printer status on the comptuer shows as offline. I've tried restarting the router, the computer, and of course the printer, all with no success. I've deleted the printers from Windows and redownload the drivers, but when I go to install them it will not allow me to continue as it does not see a printer connected to the network. So basically, I'm stuck and can't do much because the router seems to not be recognizing the printer. It does see it as an attached device, but will not fully connect to it. Running Windows 10 by the way, with the Anniversary upodate. Any help you guys could give would be most appreciated.Solved4.4KViews0likes2CommentsPrinting using Netgear ReadySHARE Printer function is not working.
Hi, Printing using Netgear ReadySHARE Printer function is not working. Router firmware is the latest: V1.0.1.12_1.0.11 My printer is a HP LaserJet 1020 USB printer, connected properly. In Netgear USB Control Center (Software Version 1.36, Driver Version 1.83.35) it shows the printer is connected to R6400. When I inititate printing from PC, the printer starts to roll rollers for about 3-4 seconds and stops without feeding in the sheet. On PC in printer properties / printer status first shows Printing and after cca 30 seconds goes to: Error - printing. After deleting the queued document, and try to print again, I get Error printing on HP LaserJet without printer roller activity. Roller rolls only first attempt after the printer is powered on. If I connect the printer trough USB to my PC, the printing is working properly. Please suggest solution, or how to troubleshoot this. I need a Router with a DHCP Less time setting, I'm going to have to sell my R7000 or custom flash it becase a DHCP Lease time of 24hrs is a Very very short sighted setting. This setting causes 10's of 100's of 1000's of people grief every year with their home and small business networks. Examples of issues: #1 (I've made lots of money on this one) Home network and small businees networks cannot print or find ip based network devices when they shut down for a week for vacations because they are setup with the IP they had at the time! #2. People who like to save energy ofter turn off their home network printers when not needed, if the printer is setup by IP address by the automated software, its screwed when you turn it on a week or 4weeks later when you need it. Most people reinstall the printer ending up with two and a large headache. This isn't limited to printers, but printer make up the most common network item turned off, I know of file servers that power down any time the company has a shut down longer then 3 days. #3. A DHCP of 72hrs is the best over all lease time. This allows for machines to be powered down over the weekend, which for small businesses in Hot climates is often required. Now if your a over zellous control freak and only share a block of 10 IP's, for the DHCP server, then thats your own fault. So without having to hard code every device on your network, or Add a extra running machine dedicated to providing the DHCP leasing... Adjusting the lease time is the best for the Envirment (polution & energy & longivity wise) and provides a more stable home network! If Netgear wants to provide the best, then they need to step up and stop some of the limited thinking and allow people to set their own DHCP lease times. Please provide the ability to adjust my lease time on my r7000 router! -- Disapointed with Neatgear! :(Solved27KViews1like16CommentsNighthawk R7000: OSX printer sharing
I have a small office of Macs and an HP LaserJet 3050. I used to have it shared via Bonjour from an Apple Airport Extreme base station, but have replaced that with a Netgear R7000 Nighthawk. So far, I've gotten it to work with the Netgear USB Control Center app. The problem with this app is that anytime you want to print, you have to launch the app, connect to the printer (as long as one of your co-workers hasn't left for lunch after forgetting to disconnect from it), print your document, manually disconnect, and close the app. Not efficient. I'd like to get it working via Bonjour, which this support document suggests is possible. However, when I get to step 5, it shows a pop-up menu appearing when I press the '+' button in Printer Preferences. This doesn't happen (at least not in OSX 10.9.5). Instead, it pops up an "Add" window with the following tabs: "Default", "Fax", "IP", "Windows". Should I be punching something in to the IP tab? Main goal here is to have a shared printer that appears in everyone's printer list, and can be printed directly to hassle-free. Possible?Solved4.6KViews0likes5Comments
