13 TopicsProblem setting up WNR614 as Wifi Repeater / Range Extender
Hi, I have a Wifi ADSL2+ Modem (Beetel 450tc1) which I use to connect to my computer. Recently I have purchased a new Netgear WNR614 Wifi Router and want to use as a range extender. I connected the netgear repeater to wifi modem with cable and another cable from netgear router to computer. It opened routerlogin.net at the start. In documentation it mentions that I should use same SSID, same channel, encryption method and same password in netgear router. As soon as I put the repeater on same channel, my computer stops opening routerlogin.net and it gives page not found error. Also when router starts it gives message that "To avoid a conflict with your Internet Service Provider, your router's IP address has been updated to 10.0.0.1". My modem IP address is 192.168.1.1. So when I try to change netgear router ip address to 192.168.1.2, it is giving me error "The ip address conflict with the WAN IP subnet. Please enter a different ip address. Invalid DHCP starting IP address". When I remove the Use Router as DHCP server, it gives me error - "The ip address conflict with the WAN IP subnet. Please enter a different ip address". When I try to enable "Enable Wireless Repeating Function", it gives me erorr - "The wireless repeating function cannot be used with Auto Channel". But when I change the Auto Channel to the same channel as of my modem (channel 1), my computer stops opening routerlogin.net and I can't access the netgear router config settings any more. The only option I left with is resetting the router. Please help me. ThanksSolved53KViews0likes17CommentsSetting up 2 routers with one as a repeater
Hello community, (sorry if you receive this post twice, it looked like my first one was posted not in the U.S) I've searched different threads, and have not come across anything for this, or I haven't found it. I'm looking to use my R6100 w/latest f.w as my router which is connected to CMD31T Modem. And I want to use my R6200 w/latest f.w as a range extender. Can anyone advise me on what settings to use via Netgear Genie. Upstairs I want to connect an X-box One S using a port on the R6200 and looking for some tips. Also my modem cm300... should I upgrade that with one that has 16x4 channel bonding? Sq Feet 1500: Upstairs Xbox and Wii Downstairs KFireStick, and then I have 2-3 lasptops, 4 -6 mobile devices. I realize I'm lumping 2 questions in here. Please advise. Thanks!!SolvedEX7000 LEDs Blinking
I have a Netgear EX7000 Nighthawk range extender that has been set up for about 4-5 months now. It has worked great up until now. I noticed the WPS, 2.4ghz and the 5g leds are blinking on it. I power cycled the extender to no avail. At times the internet still works even though these LEDs are blinking, but I've also noticed that it will also go amber and then solid green. I contacted support last night via the My Support page and was told that since my 90 days is up, call someone to troubleshoot hardware, but they closed the case. The Range Extender is connected to a Netgear router that appears to be functioning ok. Anyone else run into this issue before?6.4KViews0likes7CommentsWhich Netgear wifi range extender will work with my NETGEAR Fuse Mobile Hotspot?
Hi, Which Netgear wifi range extender will work with my NETGEAR Fuse Mobile Hotspot? Some of the range extenders can only be configured using a LAN port. But my MacBook Air has no such port, so I'd need to configure it wirelessly. And which Netgear extender will be the easiest to set up? Andy LI cannot find www.mywifiext.net
Hi, I am trying to install my new range extender. I don't have WPS so I need need to setup my connection through the web. I can connect to the NETGEAR_EXT network, but am unable to open www.mywifiext.net - the server cannot be found. I am able access other web sites. Is there another address I should be using? Looking to buy Netgear EX8000, EX7500, EX7300, or EX7000 as range extenders for an existing router (Linksys EA9500). Is it possible to set up dual networks (one standard, and one guest network) with any of these range extenders? The intent of the setup is to have both extender networks to go through single access point SSID. Thanks.2.4KViews0likes1CommentEX6150 WiFi range extender drops connection for a few seconds very often.
I have the latest firmware. I'm located a floor above my router and use the EX6150 so that I can get a stronger connection in my room. I've noticed that every hour or so, the connection will drop for a few seconds and then reconnect. I used to own the EX6100 and I never had this problem before. Does anyone have any idea as to what is happening here and why this is happening with the new extender but not the old one? I know that it isn't the extender itself because I also own an EX6400 and the same issue occurs. Things I've tried: - Updated to the latest firmware. - Switched Wifi channels. - Removed devices from my network. - Moved the extender to be slightly closer to my router. - Reset the extender. - Reset the router. - Replaced the ethernet cable the extender connects to my PC with. - Replaced the power strip. I'm really at a loss.1.3KViews0likes1Comment
