Hi, I have a Wifi ADSL2+ Modem (Beetel 450tc1) which I use to connect to my computer. Recently I have purchased a new Netgear WNR614 Wifi Router and want to use as a range extender. I connected the netgear repeater to wifi modem with cable and another cable from netgear router to computer. It opened routerlogin.net at the start. In documentation it mentions that I should use same SSID, same channel, encryption method and same password in netgear router. As soon as I put the repeater on same channel, my computer stops opening routerlogin.net and it gives page not found error. Also when router starts it gives message that "To avoid a conflict with your Internet Service Provider, your router's IP address has been updated to 10.0.0.1". My modem IP address is 192.168.1.1. So when I try to change netgear router ip address to 192.168.1.2, it is giving me error "The ip address conflict with the WAN IP subnet. Please enter a different ip address. Invalid DHCP starting IP address". When I remove the Use Router as DHCP server, it gives me error - "The ip address conflict with the WAN IP subnet. Please enter a different ip address". When I try to enable "Enable Wireless Repeating Function", it gives me erorr - "The wireless repeating function cannot be used with Auto Channel". But when I change the Auto Channel to the same channel as of my modem (channel 1), my computer stops opening routerlogin.net and I can't access the netgear router config settings any more. The only option I left with is resetting the router. Please help me. ThanksSolved53KViews0likes17CommentsNetgear N600 as a repeater?
I have an Apple Time Capsule connected to my Arris SB6141 modem. I have an additional Netgear N600 router that I want to connect to my network and use it as a wifi extender while also being able to run ethernet cables from the ports to have wired connections in another part of my house. How can I set this up? I was wondering if they will all be on the name network and not create an additional wireless network also. Thanks in advance.20KViews0likes6CommentsWireless repeater function missing - now what do I do?
I just moved to a new place. The front and back of the apt are a fair distance from each other. The N750 router's in the back of the building, wifi is weak in the front. Stringing ethernet cable is not an option so so I planned to use a spare N600 as a repeater in the front If I'm reading forum posts correctly, the repeater function has been discontinued. Is this true? Why? More important, what do I do now to get decent wifi in the front of the house? Is setting up another cable modem connection a possibility? There is a Comcast cable in the front, can I set it up there? If so, can I use the same name? Any help on where to go from here is much appreciated. EdBSolvedUnidentified Network through wired connection
Hi, I've been having trouble getting a wired connection with my Netgear Extender after we replace our Xfinity router due to the previous one being fried during a storm. It's been giving me Unidentified Network/ Ethernet doesn't have a valid IP configuration. My current setup is a Cisco Xfinity Modem/Router Hybrid Model DPC3941T in the main office on the main floor and the EX7300 Netgear Extender in the basement set up as an extender. WiFi is strong and is working normally, only the wired connection is giving me a hard time. I have some knowledge/experience with troubleshooting and have already tried most of the basic troubleshooting steps to see what was wrong. - Factory reset the extender / modem / router - Replaced ethernet cable - Used a switch between the extender and computer - Did multiple ipconfig /release /renew with no results - Did the netsh commands to reset TCP/IP reset - Uninstalled the network driver / reinstalled with the current driver / tried using older driver - Did sfc /scannow - Gave the extender a static IP - Gave the computer a static IP / 10.0.0.1 / 192.168.1.1 / 192.168.0.1 as gateways I am getting a connection from the ethernet port on the EX7300 so it's not hardware related and more on the computer side. I've probably visited hundreds of sites and forums and tried the solutions there but my situation stayed the same. Here's my ipconfig /all Windows PowerShell Copyright (C) 2016 Microsoft Corporation. Every second my router issues the message "08/21/2015 13:43:22 sending OFFER to 192.168.2.2". That IP-address used to belong to my Netgear WN3000RP repeater, which I do not use anymore. Can someone please help me how can I stop these messages from my router (Experia box V8)? Thanks a lot!Solved9.5KViews0likes5CommentsWGR614v10 repeater
I know there are posts that are close to this, but I need exact instructions on setting up this router as a repeater. So that I can put it any where in my house and this router can extend my wifi signal. I am tired of poor wifi signals. Please help me in my ignorance.9.1KViews0likes3CommentsCan R7000 (or 7500, 7800, etc.) do wireless ethernet bridge + AP? (repeater bridge)
I'm trying to find out if the stock Netgear firmware allows you to put, say, an R7000 into wireless repeater bridge mode whereby it connects--preferably with the 5Ghz channel--to my main router, and then also acts as an access point and broadcasts my SSIDs--prefrably on both 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz (though I realize this would require a virtual AP that I bet Netgear doesn't support). If not, then I'll just go with Tomato or DD-WRT, as I've used those in the past for such exercises. Thank you!Solved5.6KViews0likes4CommentsWN3000RP signal ext
I have the WN3000RP signal extender, that is extending my signal from my main router, which is a Cisco Linksys EA3500. However I have a older Netgear router which is a WGR614v10. I cannot seem to get the netgear and the Cisco linksys router to connect as in repeat or bridge, (unless i am doing something wrong). So I thought I would extender the signal with the extender and tehn connect the Netgear router to the extender as a bridge or repeater. Any advice? Thank you in advance.5.5KViews0likes6CommentsCan the C3700-100NAS be used as a Wireless Base Station, with WNDR3400 as the Wireless Repeater?
I have tried everything that I can think of, which isn't much in terms of how to network, to get the C3700-100NAS Modem/Router to find the WNDR3400 Router as a wireless repeater. Currenltly, running a cable to the location I want to use the WNDR3400 at won't work for my situation. Any help on the topic would be greatly appreciated. Hi, Which Netgear wifi range extender will work with my NETGEAR Fuse Mobile Hotspot? Some of the range extenders can only be configured using a LAN port. But my MacBook Air has no such port, so I'd need to configure it wirelessly. And which Netgear extender will be the easiest to set up? Andy L
