Firmware version - V1.0.9.12_1.2.23 I just switched to a new broadband service yesterday. Subscribed to a 100Mbps service. After the new install, I tested the speed on my iPhone using Speedtest app. I got around 40 down, and 100 up on both 2.4 and 5ghz bands I tested again using my desktop computer and got nearly 100 down and 100Mbps up. This is all in the same room - desktop, mobile devices, netgear router. Tried with another iPhone and also iPads - still around 40 down, 100 up. I then switched to another router, a TP-Link something. Tested with my mobile devices and got 100MBps I really cant understand what is the problem here. Really confused. Hope you guys can point out what I am doing wrong. Btw I had to reset the R7000 before I could make it to work with my new broadband service.Solved41KViews0likes15CommentsRouter Speedtest - slow compared with other wired devices on network
In trying to understand why my wifi speeds are so slow since v1.12.0.18... I performed the SPEED TEST option from the Orbi app which uses the OOKLA Speed Test service to test the speed between the router and the internet (no wifi involvled). It seems strange to me that the router is consistently between 35% and 50% slower than the other wired connections on my network. Here's my results from the Orbi app: and here's the results from the OOKLA app on my iMac: Both connecting to the same switch and to the same broadband connection. Shouldn't the router be capable of the same speed as the other wired devices on my network? How can we ever achieve wifi speeds that get near the possible bandwidth available if the router itself does not perform to its potential? Has anyone else seen this with their own set up? (I rund the router in AP mode if that helps) Thanks in advance Matt PS - my wifi performance overall is now terrible since V1.12.0.18 with nothing else changing (no moving of satellites, etc). I am currently getting <20Mbps (if lucky) where I was achieving 10x that - c. 200Mbps - previously.
Come è possibile?
ISP- Time Warner Cable Speed - 300/20 Router - nighthawk x4 r7500v2 Firmwares I've tried - 10.0.24 - .28 I currently have the Arris DG1670A modem/router in BRIDGED mode and the nighthawk r7500v2 connected. When I test speeds in the QOS speedtest the highest is 124mb/s. I do speedtest on speedtest.net and it goes from 320 and drops to about 120-210mb/s. Same applies with speedOf.me speedtest and DSLreports. Then there are timessage where I only get about 15mb/s down but I have to keep rebooting or restoring to factory settings to get back to the higher speeds mentioned. I'm currently at a loss on what actually is the problem. I just bought the router two days ago. Yes, when I plug directly into modem I get full speeds even 320mb/s at times as well.Solved6.2KViews0likes7Comments
