Hi all, first post so go easy on me please :) Had the RN102 for over 10 years, on latest firmware (16.10.10) Since it now EOL and not being supported, I have retired it and it is mothballed since end 2024. So its shut down, and stays turned off (plugged into power, and network cable connected) and I just boot it up when I want something (it has backups of backups and some old stuff) HOWEVER, it seems to take it upon itself to start up occasionally (may be after 2 weeks.. or a month, no set period that I can see as yet) I have checked, WOL is not ticked, no power settings to turn itself on, I can see no reason for it wake. I have checked the logs and it says something like "Background process has started" as the first entry when it has started but I dont know if that is the cause.. of just a consequence of starting up. Anyone have any idea whats going on here? Fire away if you have questions... I can add screen shots of exact messages etc if needed. Thanks in advanceReadynas RND-6a doesn't boot
I got this NAS used and so am unsure as to how it works. The model is Readynas rnd-6a. When I power it on the fans spin up and "ReadyNAS" displays on the LCD but that is all. I assume it doesn't boot although I don't know how to check if it's online, I have plugged in an Ethernet cable and it doesn't show up on my router. So far I have tried: Removing all the disks External power supply Changing the memory There is no data it, I just want to resurrect the machine. Any info or solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, ConnorSolvedR8000 Firmware
Per NetGear social media, we are supposed to suggest the below idea here. My idea, as crazy as it sounds, is that Netgear continue to support their R8000 devices. I know, sounds insane but hear me out. People spent hundreds of dollars on a product featuring the "latest tri-band wifi" technology. Now instead of leaving them hanging with a big security exploit for two months, device issues and a feature release stall, Netgear should develop a new robust firmware. Ideally it would be one that wouldn't encourage them to go out and try questionable 3rd party firmwares. That means, it should be competitive (feature wise) with those 3rd parties while fixing ongoing issues highlighted in the forums. Benefits: 1. Happy customers who don't feel like they wasted money and are not stranded with a reletively up to date tech, that lacks manufacture support, features and security. 2. See #1 above. I think it deserves reiteration. Facts 1. product saw less than 18 months of firmware releases and developer support. 2. Nearly 9 months have past since the last firmware update (as of 8/31/2016). 3. June 2016: security notice suggested disabling of features due to security exploit. 4. 2 month later, June 2016 security exploit is still unpatched, leaving customers exposed. 5. There are no Nighthawk products listed on the NetGear EoL page, including the R8000. 6. The product is still available through online and big-box retailers.125KViews7likes14CommentsOrbi RBR50 firmware V2.0.0.74. Does it support Gig down
I have the RBR50 with 3 satilights. I was getting roughly 275-280 down & 30 up when I had the 300/35 plan with my ISP. I've upgraded to the GIG down 50up plan and my Orbi speed dropped to 150 down but up upgraded to 50. I tried to check to see if I upgraded my speed past the orbi's capabilities and saw something that it supported up to 400 down. Is that correct or did I mis-understand (if that's a word)? So could my issue be caused by my web speed being being upgraded past the Orbi's abilities and is that why my speed has actually gone down after the upgrade? Hardwired test direct to a computer showed that the ISP is sending the upgraded speed. Older computer showed 380 down and Omex X setup hardwired was full speed. Also, I put the specs in the subject because the mobel tab wasn't working.

So my netgear genie was going just fine for about 5 months, then this Netgear error pops up twice every time my computer turns on saying that the file "Ralink.dll" is not compatible or working properly on your computer. I deleted the .dll file and restarded my PC. When it came on this time it says " The code execution cannot proceed because Ralinkk.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem. Wont let me access the genie. Any help on how to reinstall the program and get it to work properly?1.4KViews0likes1CommentNSR NAS - Adding HDD of another Capacity

Cannot update router, weak signal, purchased around 6 months ago at walmart. We're not sure how to update it or solve the issue with poor performance, so we looked into registering the product in order for support. However, "This Serial number has already been registered in our system by a support representative." shows up when trying to register product for troubleshooting assistance. Please help!2.6KViews0likes1Comment
