BRB50 loses WIFI internet after firmware update

My RBR50 that has been humming along for 2.5+ years has suddenly sporadically losing the ability to provide internet connectivity. The problem started after I applied the most recent firmware update. Amazon Alexa devices, fire tablets and other smart devices are not affected but laptops iphones and android smartphones are. The netgear app shows a fast internet connection but phones etc that worked all day suddenly start reporting that "the internet may not be be available". A Xfinity router (which has been on and transmitting for months) provide internet connectivity without an issue.

When problems come up immediately after installing new firmware, it might be time to consider downloading the previous firmware from the Netgear support site and manually installing it.

One thing to try after a FW update is power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem/ONT and Orbi system.
Or try a factory reset and setup from scratch on the RBR, with powering off the ISP modem/ONT for 30 seconds then back ON.

I did a hard reset on the Satellite and stopped dropping WIFI completely but it still goes in and out. Orbi was good while it lasted but I think that it's time to move on

A reset on the RBR would be needed as well as the RBS.

        Good Luck.
