I'll just pretend that you have some good reason for that. And that
is a what, exactly? Maker? Model number? Simple modem, or
modem+router, or what?> [...] Is it possible to turn off the modem in the cbk752 modem/router
> Orbi mesh? [...]Does it have an Ethernet WAN/Internet port? If not, then there'd be
no place to connect an external modem in a useful way.If what you really want from the CBK752 is better wireless-network
performance, and if your (unspecified) "my cox cable modem" were
actually a modem+router, then you might be able to configure the CBK752
modem+router as a wireless access point for use with your (unspecified)
"my cox cable modem". See, for example:- PsherrerdAspirant
As for the reason, my wife wants to keep our landline. The cbk 752 modem will not allow that. This model wan on super sale open box and I had anticipated that I could simply bypass the modem. It doesn't seem that I can.

"my cox cable modem" would make specific, useful advice easier.

You have posted your message in the section of this community given over to Nighthawk WiFi Routers. (This is easily done, given Netgear's complicated community structure.)
Many questions apply to different types of device, so you might get responses here, but you might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your hardware, in the appropriate section for your device. That's probably here:Orbi with Built-in Cable Modem - NETGEAR Communities
I will ask the Netgear moderator to move your message.- PsherrerdAspirant
