DISABLE LAN PORTS ON RBS50
I plan on putting the RBS50 (the satellite) in a family room / living room area. Guests would be able to access the internet through Guest-Mode Wireless. I want to prevent guests from being able to get onto my LAN by simply plugging in a LAN cable into the RBS50. Is there a way, in the firmware, to disable the LAN ports on the RBS50 ? How can I get around this problem without using something like an RBW30?

Commited configuration changes will be stored in NVRAM and will be restored after system restart, power cycle or upgrade. It will also be stored in backup and can be restored.

Try the following telnet command in the satellite:

He would also need to enable TELNET as well. TELNET is disabled by default on NG routers. :smileywink: Use of a telnet program suggestion would be good to for someone who hasn't done this before. Putty or TeraTerm are great telnet programs.

Thank you ... I am assuming that this change would need to be re-applied after every RBS50 firmware update, correct? Since I will be remote from this router, can I telnet into it remotely if I have remote administration turned on?

Possibly, not sure if changed in telnet persist thru a FW update. Definately not thru a factory reset.
See this under settings. And put satelitte in a closet.
