Firmware V1.12.0.18 Discussion

This does indeed appear to be based on (identical to?) the last private beta V1.12.0.16 and has been released to the public.  Hope it helps!

Guest mode AP isolation finally works 100% over IPv4 and IPv6 - much happiness in my household.  =)

  • I believe I have found my iPhone issue out. With the new firmware you can see what devices are connected to 2.4g and 5g networks. While I'm inside the house iPhones are running nicely on the 5g network. Soon as I step outside in the backyard they get pushed to the 2.4g network, and the disconnects and the extremely slow speeds kick in. I wish there was a way to disable 2.4g on the iPhone.

A couple things that I would try would be turned down 2.4 transmission to like 50%or try a different Channel on your 2.4 and you something like 1 or 6 or 13

I've temporarily resolved my dropout problem by simply turning off both satellites.  Stable, but I don't get the coverage that I need in my house. When I first installed the RBK53, it was fantastic.  Two firmware updates later (including the beta), and I basically have three expensive paperweights.  So tomorrow, I'm getting a new router.  I haven't yet decided which one, but I'm researching tonight. I do know that it will not have the Netgear brand on it.

        Adios!

  • Dudes, the beta firmware absolutely fixed everything for my system. iPhones, Nvidia shield, laptops, Google pixel, Ethernet all works no one drop for a week +. One guy in a previous post linked the post that had the beta firmware. Get it from there if you don't want to wait until the next update. I can tell u that I won't change the beta even with future updates. Do a clean install. Best luck. Orbi when working is by far the best out there and I tried the eero 2nd gen pro.

Of course, your mileage may vary. I've been using current 1.12 firmware for a couple of months without any issues. What seems to work for one person here doesn't always work for all.

I had linked the Beta but I believe one of the MODs deleted the link. Yes mine has been flawless with the Beta for over a week.

Try rebooting your router and see if it's still flawless.

Nice try guys but a fail.  I upgraded to version 2 and within 2 hours everything was locked up.  No internet access or WiFi access.  Same as the previous versions.  Until you perfect the firmware, the system is garbage.  I have an expensive 6 month old paper weight.  Not a complex network.  One satellite and 22 devices connected to a Spectrum cable network thru a SB3400 modem.

It is obvious you have no clue as to what is wrong with these units.  They should be recalled.

I am going to post to Amazon and other boards the truth about Orbi.

Its perplexing how some people have 0 problems and others have total trainwrecks. There has to be something causing this. My system is flawless, and I feel for you guys with issues.
