Loss of connection

Have Orbi rbr and 2 satellite. Use netgearnvg599. Have had setup for while. Resent return from vacation and connection is seeming gone. Desktop is extremely slow as is mobile. If take WiFi off, use LTE, is fine. Try to do speed check on phone and just shows time soon without ever able to connect. I get full strength signal/bars for WiFi. Ran speed test online - download of 0.5 and upload 1. Usually download over 6 with same upload. (ATT). Rebooted Orbi system as well as Uverse router and no change. Thoughts appreciated! Thx

    Hi piperd

Have you tried running a speed test hard wired directly to the ATT router? If so, what were the speed test results?

     a) If the issue is still the same during this testing phase, you would need to contact your ISP.

     b) If speed test results are better when hard wired to the ATT router, then hard wire the Orbi router and provide your speed test results.

    Thanks,

    Christian

Thanks for responding. So, hardwired and using original router without Orbi, getting download of 4.9 and then a message stating “error failed to upload any data at all” Now that said, whereas wasnt before, Netflix now picks up on tv?? Reconnected to Orbi and ran again on desktop- same thing (download 6, error for upload). Netflix still works!

I would suggest contacting your ISP as you are still getting very slow speeds when you have your desktop hard wired to your ATT router. Feel free to provide an update once you're able to get in contact with your ISP.

        Best regards,

    Modem Combo Units:
    Couple of options,
    1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
    2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
    3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, LAN to LAN and configure AP mode on the Orbi router.

Thank your for the info. For starters, was told full bridge not possible, and furthermore ATT was of zero use/help- after several hours on phone. As for the other advise, sounds great but unfortunately all the other options/instructions are unfortunately over my head. Guess will see what ATT can do as far as checking system from there end and go from there.

Next option would be 2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
