My Netgear Nighthawk CM1100 Won't Work With My Orbi Mesh System
I bought a netgear nighthawk CM 1100 router and the three unit Orbi mesh system to cover 7,500 square feet (it has one Orbi router and two Orbi satellites). The Orbi will not work with the modem. Anyone have any idea what settings I need to have on the modem and Orbi to get them to work? Disable wireless on anything? Set Orbi to Access Point? Any specific settings for the modem AND the orbi? Any help would be greatles appreciated! Thank you all!
That worked. Thank you all!

Disable Link Aggreggation on the modem and be sure to connect the LAN cable from the RBRs yellow WAN port to the #1 port on the CM1100 only. There are other ports on the CM modem which will not be used. Only Port #1 on the CM1100 is used.
Power OFF both CM and RBR for 30 seconds, then power ON the modem and let it sync. Then power ON the RBR and walk thru the setup wizard with a wire connected PC to the back of the RBR and use a web browser to walk thru the setup wizard.- Mike9676Aspirant
Thank you, I will try this but how do you disable link aggregation on the modem?

This may be on page 18 of the user manual: http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/CM1100/CM1100_All_MSOs_UM_EN.pdf

No. That's for when you have a modem/router in front of the Orbi.
The CM1100 is a "simple" modem.
Remember, as FURRYe38 says, when setting these things up, be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
- Turn off and unplug modem.
- Turn off router and computers.
- Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
- Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it connect.
- Turn on computers and rest of network.
I repeat that only to avoid any confusion with strange jargon and mystic initials. (RBR?)
