Orbi Query - Will an extra third “bridge” satellite help with daisy chain and overall wifi speed imp
In my current setup I have the Orbi router in the living room, then a satellite each in the bedrooms with closed doors. This is setup using daisy chain topology. I’m in India so we have a lot of interference within our walls and environment. The satellite signal in the “attached devices” page of the setup via the Orbi Desktop Login says "GOOD" for both satellites, but keeps dropping out at intervals. Wondering if I place an extra third satellite in the small bridge hallway between the living and the rooms, would the signals and speed improve for wifi overall across the home? Please reference attached floor plan layout of my home to understand how the router and satellites are setup. I’ve marked the third potential satellite placement as SAT 3 bang in the middle of the main router and the other two satellites. I’m running the latest firmware 2.1.1.16 for my device. Thank you.

While I'm setting up my Orbi, saw your thread. 1). You must have extremely high levels of interference to need satelites in each room, but given that, is it your device losing connection or the satelite to the router?

Thanks, it's not the router that's losing connection, its the satellite to the router. Also in the living room I'm getting far greater throughput via Wifi than in the bedrooms. I tried it without the Daisy Chain setting and the satellites lock in better but the devices keep only connecting to the router at 2.4Ghz and not 5Ghz. So the daisy chain works better overall. Wondered if I should have a bridge router as a friend is coming from the USA. Note my home is not too big but I've tried every option for Wifi and the Orbi seems the best. Was thinking of swapping this for the Amplifi HD or the EERO 2nd Gen and adding a heap of mesh points but then I keep reading that Orbi is simply the best out there! So may just stick with it. I'm baffled how in the latest app update they don't allow us to force a device to connect to a particular satellite - that would have been a great feature and the QoS still doesn't work properly on the desktop login section in the ADVANCED settings., I just see a SPEEDTEST by OOKLA!

I hear ya. My iPhone is still locked in a 2.4 until I find a way to kick it off and hopefully link it to 5GHz. Another novice suggestion, but have you tried different channels for both the 2.4 and 5 GHz
