Hello all! Our home is fairly large and was built by the Moravians (lots of stone), so we needed to connect the satellites via an ethernet cable. So recently I updated the Orbi RBR50, and RBS50's to firmware Version 2.1.2.18, which I was told makes them possible to connect via the ethernet. Now, one satellite is hooked up via the ethernet, but the other changes between the ethernet and 5G connection and gives significantly slower speeds. I've tried resetting it to factory settings and reinstalling the firmware. Is there still something wrong? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks so much ahead of time for all the help!SolvedExtend your existing Orbi with a satellite
I have found out that extending your existing Orbi with a satellite is not in al cases so easy. My current Orbi set-up exist of a router and two satellites, which all where running on the latest firmware v2.1.4.10. The new and third satellite came out of the box with firmware v1.12.0.18. After adding the third satellite to the system I noticed that I could not upgrade the firmware of the new satellite. Both automatic and manual I got the error that the upgrade failed. While looking for a solution I saw a message that I had to downgrade first the router. So I have downgraded the router to v1.12.0.18. But stil upgrading the new satellite to v2.1.4.10 was not possible. So I have first upgraded the new satellite to v2.0.1.4 and after that upgraded it to v2..1.4.10. After that I needed to uprgade the router first to v2.0.1.4 and after that to v2.1.4.10. Hopefully this information helps other with the same problem and that netgear can solve the problems what is causing this.Orbi satellites not on manual update page
My RBK40 Orbi Router shows up on the Firmware Update page, but my two RBW30 satellites do not show up on the Manual Updates page - though they're both online and working nominally. What's up with that? Enclosed photos: Router homepage showing 2 satellites operating; basic firmware update screen showing router; manual update screen with no satellites displayed.Satellite won't update to 2.1.2.18
To whom it may concern: I noticed that my Satellite was one version back on firmware. I tried to automatically update it, but it came back with "Update failed." I then tried to manually update it to 2.1.2.18, but it failed on that as well. What should I do? My router is on version 2.1.2.18 and appears to be working just fine. Should I back off the update on the router? Or should I try hard booting the Satellite (i.e. unplug it and re-sync it to the router) and see if I can update it after that? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.SolvedWhich ORBI to buy to work with LTERIVERs?

So I just recently purchased the Orbi RBK40 router and I noticed you cannot separate the 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi signals through normal methods. I was told that the router has a system or program that automatically pushes the best connection possible. All the devices that support a 5GHz connection seem to connect just fine. However, there are two PS4 Pros in the house and the router refuse to connect it to the 5GHz conncetion. Under my network settings on both PS4 Pro say they are on a 2.4 GHz conncetion. Even under the router GUI it says that it's connected to the 2.4 GHz conncetion. I've been trying to look up methods on how to connect it mannually but no luck. I found a post that teaches how to separate the SSIDs for both the 2.4 and 5 GHz and it worked, however the devices that were connceting to the 5GHz were experincing lag issues and would not have a consistent download rate. I usually average between 145-150 Mbps download when I don't split the SSIDs. However, when they are separate SSIDs, the download ranges from 6-130 Mbps and is never consistent. Not to mention, when the SSIDs are split, the PS4s seems to disconnect from the router frequently. Long story short, is there a way to connect the PS4 Pro to the 5GHz connection?ORBI Satellites to directv recorders not staying connected 2.1.1.16
Connection between two Directv recorders for shared play lists between the two ORBI sattilite units in my system keeps loosing connection and I have to reset both ORBI sattilites to re-establish the connection between the Directv recorders. NOTE: Both recorders are connected to the ORBI sattilites via hardwire. NOTE: A third Directv recorder is hardwire connected to the ORBI base router and never looses connection with either Directv recorder that are connected to the two seperate ORBI sattilites. I tried to disable the "daisy chain" feature but then I could not estabilsh a connection between the two recorders connected to two individual ORBI sattilites.Orbi Query - Will an extra third “bridge” satellite help with daisy chain and overall wifi speed imp
In my current setup I have the Orbi router in the living room, then a satellite each in the bedrooms with closed doors. This is setup using daisy chain topology. I’m in India so we have a lot of interference within our walls and environment. The satellite signal in the “attached devices” page of the setup via the Orbi Desktop Login says "GOOD" for both satellites, but keeps dropping out at intervals. Wondering if I place an extra third satellite in the small bridge hallway between the living and the rooms, would the signals and speed improve for wifi overall across the home? Please reference attached floor plan layout of my home to understand how the router and satellites are setup. I’ve marked the third potential satellite placement as SAT 3 bang in the middle of the main router and the other two satellites. I’m running the latest firmware 2.1.1.16 for my device. Thank you.
