Orbi rbr50 w/ 5 satellites going down the tubes on speed.
i have 5 sattelites to cover my 1 story 4000 squarfoot home on 3 acres. i have half gig service which if i plug in any other non netgear router into my modem i get near full speed every time (i even tried my nighthawk i have from another property). if i put in the rbr50, it drops to 30 with 10 upload. this is both with the native test inside the config tool and using speedtest or similar from other services from a pc browser directly cabled into the router. running latest firmware on all devices.
rbr50 2.7.1.60
rbs20 2.6.1.38
rbw30 2.6.1.6
rbs50y 2.6.1.4
rbs50 2.7.1.60
i've look at toggling beam forming, mime, etc. nothing seems to improve. i'm on the edge of dumping the whole system and going non netgear. any suggestions would be helpful. i've had my ISP out multiple times to directly test. swapped out 3 different modems from a rental, to surboard, to netgear, nothing changes the orbi degrading performance. including a full wipe and rebuild.
any ever seen this before i make a tech donation to goodwill?

Wow, for that size of home and sq ft on one level, thats too many RBS. RBR50 and 1 RBS covers my 2story 5000sq ft home with basement without any problems.
What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.
Lets remove the RBS20 and RBW30 and just run the RBR50, RBS50 and the outside RBSY for now...
What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.

Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and Orbi system been performed since last update?
- Reb8sAspirantThanks for comments... tried and no improvement.
A) took off a few satellites. No change and blind spots in my coverage
B) could be that my house has a lot of tile, glass, and cement siding which could inhibit signal vs other materials.
C) used 30ft rule and adjusted layouts vs line of site, more blindspots
D) full reset. Speed on stats moved from 100m/full to 1000m/full but at additon of 3rd satellite dropped to 100m
E) manipulated channels and no performance improvement.
I'm still at a bit of loss. Still open to suggestions. Is Daisy Chain enabled?
- Reb8sAspirantAlso... armor is not enabled

With that size of your home my first question would be, where is the router located? A more centralized location would be better.
As superior as the Orbi Mesh system is, it's still a router/WiFi system and for the most part is not able to create new WiFi signals or strength. Where it does do a great job directing the flow of data, the distance between router and satellite can still be a challenge

It certainly cannot hurt to power off all of the satellites during initial diagnosis.
Probably worth confirming how the router describes the physical connection to the modem. On the Orbi web interface, Advanced Tab, click on the blue box "Show Statistics". The entry for WAN should show 1000/Full, correct?
With this collection of parts, my guess is that the Orbi is well outside the 90 day window for "complimentary support". Did it come from another location where it was working correctly?
