Orbi RBS50 showing offline wont connect to RBR50

Tried everything, factory resetting everything updating to latest firmware, syncing the satellite from the app, from the devices, through the ip.  Below is what shows up on the satellite web portal

on the router web portal

Any advice on how to get the second satellite connected to the router would be greatly appreciated.

  • and.......... the solution appears.  Nothing on 2.4G. Nothing on 5G.  Because the backhaul is 'wired'.  Now:

    • I can drag an Ethernet cable down the hall, down the stairs, and connect my satellite to wired backhaul, or
    • edavis949 can report how that satellite is connected to the router.

  • Both of the screen shots were of a web browser:

    1. Accessing the web page of the satellite, and
    2. Accessing the Attached Devices page on the router.

The Orbi 'app' is not involved, although it would be interesting to know how the device running the web browser was connected to the Orbi system.  If, for example, it is connected to the router, then opening the satellite home page would involve passing through the backhaul connection, which implies that it is indeed "connected" (as Attached Devices shows).

This is a mystery (to me) because my Orbi 50 system, with the same v2.7.6.6 firmware, shows the connection as one would expect.

      Sorry, I missed that.

My own RBS50 is using a wired backhaul.  It shows the same satellite screen as edavis949

The web portal shows that both are connected.  So this looks like it might be a bug in the app.  Have you tried reinstalling the app?

This would be a useful way to confirm that it is working properly.  If nothing is connected, then try disconnecting and reconnecting your phone wifi while in the same room as the satellite.
