  • What FW is currently loaded?

Be sure to scroll down on the RBS web page to show more details on the status page.

Check different browsers for differences. MS Edge or Firefox.

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update? A complete pull of the power adapters for a period of time after the factory reset then walk thru the setup wizard and setup from scratch with a wired PC and web browser. Recommend setting the default DHCP IP address pool range to the following after applying and a factory reset: 192.168.#.100 to 192.168.#.200.

I would power OFF the ISP modem for 1 minute. Factory reset the Orbi router and power it off. Power ON the ISP modem and let it sync. Then power ON the Orbi router and walk thru the setup wizard again using a wired PC and a web browser.
Press the back reset button for 15 seconds then release.

The SSID is shown farther down the page (see screen shot below).

There is no method to change the SSID on the satellite itself.  That setting is on the router and the router communicates the proper settings to the satellite.

  • The orbi satellite ssid is tied into the primary routers ssid. Its why its a mesh system and its why you can't change it on the satellite.

It has to be changed on the router.

So I am using the fios router and the Orbi as an access point, though they are on the same network, I would still like to be able to change the SSID and the password. I went to my verizon router and I couldnt change it either

The Verizon router management screens can be used to manage the Verizon router itself, not devices connected to the router.

Find the IP address of the Orbi base unit (RBR50) and open a web browser to that IP address.

The Wireless menu item is where the WiFi SSID and password are set.

Or, the Orbi 'app' can be used to change these settings.
