Orbi Satellite dropping connection regularly
Upgraded from Apple to orbi about 3 mo ago - wow! The speed increase is amazing. One downside though is my nest Hello camera loses WiFi connection pretty regularly over the last few months....every 1-2 weeks (attached is screenshots of notifications).
My question: how do I go about diagnosing how to figure out the root cause? Not sure if it’s the nest camera or the new orbi (when the nest was on the Apple WiFi I got no notifications so I suspect it’s the orbi)

Potentially could have been an update to the nest camera as well. I had a thermostat that would go offline daily for a coupe minutes and reconnect on its own. I thought it was my orbi as well and changed it out for another router and it would continue the same routine. It did it for a couple months until the firmware on the thermostat was updated.
Couple things you could try though.
1. Assign it a static IP/reserve its ip address
2. Check placment of your router/satellite. If its right in the middle it might be dynamically switching from one device to the other or potentially switching bands. When it does this, some smart devices register as offline and send the notice.
3. another thought is if you have auto on for your channel selection. It could be switching wifi channels and the camera drops off during the switch.
Does it automatically reconnect or do you have to reboot it?

What is the Mfr and model# of the ISP modem the NG router is connected too?
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet is recommended in between them to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected. What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?Try enabling Beamforming and MIMO(MIMO may or maynot be needed) and WMM. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings
Try disabling the following and see:
Daisy Chain, Fast Roaming, IPv6 and Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Save settings and reboot the router and satellite(s).

There are so many people with this problem and no solutions in sight.
Going to be buying Google WiFi and return the Orbi to Costco.- FURRYe38Guru - Experienced User
Good luck in your endeavours.
My Orbi is working just fine. So are many others.

I suspect it was the Nest Hello. I did a reset on the Nest unit and have not had any drops since.
Good luck!
