OrbiOS 2.1.4 + Homekit
We’ve been monitoring issues that some users have experienced on OrbiOS 2.1.4 with Apple Homekit. In response, to those customers, we’re releasing firmware that provides a temporary work around to customers while we work towards a more permanent fix. Please use the manual firmware upgrade process to apply to your Orbi

Please include RBK30 ASAP.
The whole manual downgrade/auto upgrade dance is EXHAUSTING. - turns2stoneApprentice
After upgrading RBR50 and RBS5, no devices will connect to my RBS50Y, which is of course still stuck on 2.1.36.
HomeKit devices connected to my RBR50/RBS50 do indeed appear more stable. But my Outdoor Orbi is essentially useless. Router GUI shows it’s connected as a satellite via 5G, but nothing will connect.
- computersteveApprenticeI too have the RBS50Y. Looks like it was finally posted =)

The firmware posted for the RBS50Y has the same version number: 2.1.3.4, although the file is indicated as "V2".
I updated to V2, but behavior is the same (nothing can connect to the Orbit Outdoor). I guess I'm off to do some rebooting/troubleshooting....

I was having all sorts of problems reliably printing to my Brother 2360D when it was asleep, which was unusual.
I forgot about the firmware v2.1.4.10 which I was running, because everything was working so well for me.
I applied this update and it's working again.
I don't really use HomeKit so I did not think it was related, but I guess it was. Hope this information helps someone else.

Hello! The new Orbi software DID hose my HomeKit. I've been problem solving for days now - most of my devices say "no response."
I'm pleased to see that there is a hot fix out, but my MacBook doesnt actually have an ethernet port, and I don't have a dongle, so what do I do?
How many days before a permanent fix is out, that will upload over the air?
Chad
Chad,
Just download the img file(s) to your Mac, login to your Orbi, Advanced, Administration, Firmware Update, Manual. Do the sat first, when it’s rebooting do the router. No dongle or hard connection needed. It’s working great for me. Good Luck.

Great! I did it and it worked. (Some article said it needed an ethernet connection.)
Is is correct that the version linked to the RBX40 links are V2.1.3.6 where as the versions for the RBX50 and RBX20 are V2.1.4.14?
- oncodudeAspirantI went to perform the manual install, but my system was already running on 2.1.4. And my HomeKit is not working. Do I need to perform the manual install anyway?

Hello oncodude
Yes manual install over that firmware.

Does this fix include Philips Hue? It's not strictly Apple HomeKit but works using the same back-end.
- eljarvisoLuminaryIt should. I believe it’s a tweak to how it handles mDNS.
After much teeth nashing, pulling of hair, swearing, etc. I finally got my system back up and running on 2.1.4.14 on a wired backhaul. I finally had to factory restore everything, reloaded firmwares, say a prayer, and finally it is up and running.
My Homekit stuff seams to be ok for now, but I am still getting "unreachable" message on most of my Hue stuff. Hopefully you have had better luck.
After many wasted hours spent fighting this system this week, I can't take any more, so hopefully it will stay stable and they won't push another auto update that breaks it all again. I don't think my mental health can take it.

Where are you getting FW V2.1.4.14 from? Only recently Netgear releseased FW V2.1.4.10-0430-dbg for which I was a beta tester. Previously I was having major issues when upgrading to FW 2.1.3.4 and FW 2.1.4.10, which buggered up my Homekit and Lifx devices, so I downgraded to FW V2.1.2.18, but once I installed V2.1.4.10-0430-dbg about a week ago after working with Netgear, my system has been perfect for at least a week.

I have updated my RBR50 without problem. When I try to update the RBS50's it fails with a message stating the file is not correct. How do I get the Satellites updated?
- oncodudeAspirant
I have the same problem, but I started with the sattelite, as instructed
- cheshbrApprentice
Done this and it works for me

Updated to v2.1.4.14 on both RBR50 and RBS50 (satellite first). The update went smoothly. It will take me a few days to determine whether it has cured my issues with Philips Hue Routines becoming unreliable; here's hoping!

After four days my Hue Routines have been faultless. I'll give it at least a couple of weeks before stating that v2.1.4.14 has definitely cured my Hue issue but it's promising so far.
