RBR50 with 1 satellite

So I live in a split foyer house. It's about 1400sqft. The router is in the master bedroom which is on the far end of the house. The satellite is in the basement on the other end of the steps. I tried putting the satellite in the office which is at the other end of the house in the basement but had very poor connection so I was forced to put it where it is now. Could I get another satellite and put in the office or is it too close and pointless to the other satellite. I guess my thinking is the satellite I would put in the office would go off the satellite in the basement which goes to the router and therefore give me great connection. As seen in the picture the satellites would not be very far apart at all. Unless there's other options I'm stumped on what to do. The computer has been working good with a wifi extender but ideally I would like to put my xbox in there as well but I want everything to be connected via cable. Thanks for looking and possibly helping it's greatly appreciated.

A wired connection between the RBR and xbox would be best.

    Good Luck.

You have posted your message in the section of this community given over to General WiFi Routers (Non-Nighthawk). (This is easily done, given Netgear's complicated community structure.)

Many questions apply to different types of device, so there may be useful responses here, but Orbi systems are not like standard routers, so you might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:

    Orbi - NETGEAR Communities

I will ask the Netgear moderator to move your message.

In the meantime you could visit the support pages:

    Support | NETGEAR

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.

You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.

I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?

What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and 📡 satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS📡 to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.

      Firmware is V 2.7.2.104
      Don't have a modem. It's satellite internet.
About 1400sqft is my split foyer home.
The satellite is about 40-50ft away and on a different level. I'm very confused now because I moved my satellite and am getting better signal but my xbox which is wired into the satellite is getting WAY worse. I'm getting 31mbps on my phones wifi and only 23.51mbps on my wired Xbox.

You might move the RBS a bit slower to the RBR maybe.
