v2.7.5.6 more unstable?

Since updating to the latest firmware v2.7.5.6 for RBR50 / RBS50 I've noticed at least two crashes, there may have been more.

Has anyone else noticed increased instability since updating from v2.7.5.4?

Also you would have thought if they we're fixing security issues they would have updated the SSL certificate so it worked with chrome, I mean come on guys, while you were at it...

  • Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router and satellites been performed since last update?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
    Turn off and unplug modem.
    Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network.

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?

Had another restart, so definitely something not right.

I have just tried the full system reboot, will monitor and try factory reset + restore if its still an issue.

If the FR and setup from scratch fails, then might revert back to prior working version of FW.

  • I have an RBR50 + 2xRBS50 and also experience almost-daily network disconnects since upgrading to 2.7.5.6

I've tried all the usual reboot steps including my fiber modem and powering each NetGear device one at a time slowly.

Doesn't seem to help. I now regret  applying the firmware update.

Warning to others: Don't upgrade unless you need to. If it's not broken, don't upgrade.

The problem is the only information provided was it was a security update, which are typically important to apply and without any details we can’t make an informed decision.

It sux there would be this type of regression though and if the restart doesn’t help I am going to regret updating. But I guess worst case is having to manually downgrade

Reverted to V2.7.5.4 and no problem since, so clearly a serious issue with the V2.7.5.6.
