Wired Backhaul Problems with RBR50/RBS50
Hi,
I'm at wits end. To support some virtual schooling, I reconfigured our orbi setup. RBR50 is in AP mode. 2 Satellites. Because the one satellite is in an addition, behind a brick wall, I wanted to use wired backhaul. First thing I did was upgrade everything to v2.5.1.16, In my optimal configuration, one satellite is connected wired and one isn't (I tried both wired and got same result described next).
Bottom line is this - they will come up and connect with wired and wireless. Web app shows things correctly. However, after 1-10 minutes, the entire network will go down and I have to reset my Cable modem and all the orbi's (Arris cable modem that is also the DNS server). The error on all the connections even the one hardwired to Arris and that don't touch the orbi is "No interenet". Or something to that effect.
Here's the kicker. Even though I have the Daisy Chain Topology flag UNCHECKED, when the satellites are not connected with the wired backhaul, the one behind the brick wall connects to the other satellite and it seems to work fine in that daisy chain configuration. (They are all 30' apart).
It works fine in the wifi-only configuration, but this drives me crazy. Any suggestions on what to try next. Have searched these boards and tried various suggestions with no luck.
THanks!
If CAT5, or possible bad cable could cause some problems if not working well.
What is the Mfr and model # of this switch?
Try this, turn OFF the one wireless RBS and leave the wired RBS connected. Does the problem still happen?

Is the RBS directly connected to the RBR or is there a ethernet switch in between?
IF there is a switch what is the Mfr and model # of this switch?
What catgory LAN cable are you using? CAT6 is minimum recommended.
Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last update?- tjochemAspirant
Is the RBS directly connected to the RBR or is there a ethernet switch in between? Yes. And I tried it both ways and same result. (Its an unmanaged switch)

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last update? Yes, on RBR and RBS'
