6100D external access
I'm using a 6100D with a static IP address on the Sprint network. I've successfully made necessary updates via myrouter from the LAN side. Is there a portthat accesses the 6100D GUI/home page from the WAN side (via the static IP)? The gateway is supporting a remote application and I'd like to monitor the gateway if necessary.
Thanks,

Yes, you have to use https. You wouldn't want to use http because it is unencrypted. Heed the warnings to put a strong password on your 6100D. I recommend a password of at least 16 characters. This will insure that the password is computationally infeasible to crack through brute force.
I'm not sure what's going on with the certificate. Try clearing your browser's cache, or try a different browser.
BTW, you can read about Remote Management on page 40 of the manual.

BTW: the "bleep" in my initial post is my name - a diminutive of Richard. Go figure......
Log into the 6100D and go to Security > Remote Management. You can enable remote login and customize the external port to open.

Great, thanks. Looks like I have to access it via https instead of http. Is that correct?
I get access, but rejected due to "certificate" problem. Apparently there is more to it. Can you point me to the certificate stuff.
