Aircard 785 Battery Will Not Charge, Cannot Find Spare Battery
Aircard 785 is just over six months old. Battery is unresponsive, won't charge at all - when connected to PC or mains via USB the screen shows either battery 0% or the red plug icon suggesting it's running directly off external power supply.
Tried charging for 24hrs and made no difference. Have tried varierty of usb cords and both charging off PC and off mains, all with same result.
Spent a looooooong time holding to speak to someone about warranty. Cannot progress case without proving that it is the battery that is the issue, which I cannot do without replacing the battery. Can't find branded replacement batteries, ordered a generic off ebay but it's missing in the post...
Grateful for any suggestions based on similar experience, or a source of replacement batteries for this model.

I am one of many who have had the same NO BATTERY and 0% charge errors on another unit, the 770s. Someone on my thread said they were able to use it with the battery out and plugged into an outlet. That works intermittently but you still get the same error after a while. I've ordered (2) batteries on Amazon that fit perfectly and with the same specs. After a day or two the errors returned, so it's not the battery. I've done a factory re-set. After 3 more days the errors returned. Someone suggested removing both the battery and SIM card, letting it sit for 10 minutes. Put it all back together and see if it works. Not going to try it right now because I'm in the middle of something but I will in the morning.
Sure is strange how so many of these Aircards are showing these errors 6mos to a year into a 2 year contract. And we are all getting the same advice from CS. Frustrating. Hope one of these workarounds works for you.- C4ETutor
Managed to find a generic battery on ebay that fits so I am up and running again. Unfortunately Netgear considers the original battery (which only lasted 6 months) to be an accessory so it's not covered by warranty. What a pity.

I got this problem too, only brought the device half year, unable to charge, no spare parts for replacement, lost confidence on netgear product, will not recommand to friends

I could only solve the problem by replacing the battery, I found a generic model on ebay that worked better than the Netgear original.
- goldfishbrainsAspirantI'm having the same issue too :(

I have a similar paroblem. The Aircard will work good on AC power however it would not charge the battery. I have replaced the battery with a new battery however when I connect to power the battery will not charge. The unit just displays the connected to AC icon (red plug). How can I get this device to start charging a brand new battery?

Hello Goodie0806
I would contact support if your battery is not charging and the unit is still under warranty.

Thanks for the response. I took the device into the local Telstra shop, they are arranging for it to be fixed. (I hope).
