assign a static ip address to my computer from MR1100

I have had a look through lots of messages on the board but cannot seem to find the answers that i am looking for.

I have just purchased the Nighthawk and want to assign a static IP address to my printer and my laptop as well as my desktop.  The main reason is for the scan function on the printer as the only way that the Fuji Xerox printer like to do that is through the network scan function.

I have this set up on the multiple sites that i work at and i can assign the IP address to my laptop from the routers but cannot seem to find the place on the nighthawk that allows me to set this up.  I am connecting wifi on the laptop and through the ethernet port to the printer.

Any help would be much appreciated

Dean

  •    I know nothing about an MR1100, but I skimmed through the manual:

          http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/MR1100/MR1100_UM_EN.pdf

and didn't see anything helpful.  The closest thing I found was on page
    81, "How do I find a device's MAC address?":

You must know the MAC address for a device when you are doing the
          following:

o Assigning an IP address based on a MAC address (when using DHCP)

So, you know that you'd need the MAC address of the device to do what
you want, but there seems to be no way actually to do it.  Other than
running a (better) DHCP server on your laptop, or waiting for Netgear to
provide more capable firmware for the MR1100, I don't see any good
possibilities.  (Shop more carefully next time?)

Have you tried opening a support case with Netgear?

The DHCP server that is part of the M1 is very basic and is not able to allocate static IP's. If you need to do this then I would recommend disabling the M1 DHCP server and run DHCP service from another device.Other then that you would have to set IP's manually at each device you want static
